Man Accused Of Kidnapping 15-Year-Old Girl, Raping Her, Then Using Google Translate To Tell Her She Was Pretty

Victor Emandes-Ramirez allegedly grabbed the teen from behind as she walked to her bus stop, forced her into a car and then raped her in a shed behind his mobile home in Wake County, North Carolina.

A North Carolina man accused of raping a 15-year-old girl allegedly used Google Translate to tell her she was pretty and he wanted to be friends after the forceful attack.

The teen told deputies she had been walking to the bus stop on Thursday morning around 6:30 a.m. when a man—later identified by authorities as 33-year-old Victor Emandes-Ramirez—allegedly grabbed her from behind and forced her into his car, according to a search warrant application filed in the case by the Wake County Sheriff’s Office and obtained by Oxygen.com.

The suspect then drove her in his car to the back of his single-wide mobile home and forced her into a shed behind the trailer, authorities said.

Ramirez allegedly raped the teen in the shed before pulling his pants up and driving her to school, according to the warrant application.

On the way to school, the 15-year-old victim told authorities that Ramirez—who did not speak English—used Google Translate to talk with her, telling her he thought she was pretty and he hoped they could be friends, the application said.

Ramirez also allegedly told the victim not to tell her brothers about the attack.

Authorities were called to East Wake High School a short time later after receiving a report of an alleged rape. The teen told authorities she had been raped by a man named “Victor” who was wearing white pants with blue-paint stains and a dark jacket.

Authorities were able to use the school’s surveillance footage to determine the teen had been dropped off in a gray or silver sedan that authorities were later able to link to Ramirez, the application said.

Ramirez is now facing charges of first-degree kidnapping, statutory rape of a child 15 years of age or younger and statutory sex offense with a child 15 years of age or younger, local station WRAL reports He is currently being held at the Wake County jail on a $1 million bond.

The girl’s father told the local station he hopes Ramirez will receive jail time.

“It could have gone a lot of different ways, but luckily, the sheriff got him before I did,” he said. “I hope he gets life in prison, and I hope he gets tortured every day of his life.”
The teen’s father said he rushed to the high school after she called him about the alleged attack in one of the “worst phone calls you could ever get.”

His focus now is on helping his daughter recover.

“We’re going to get through it,” he told the WRAL. “It’s just tough, it really is, but my main goal is to try to make her better.”
