Gun Grabbers Blame The AR-15: Oops! No AR-15 Found, But They Hate Them Anyway

Gun barrels were still warm and smoking and blood was still flowing from the bullet wounds inflicted by Aaron Alexis at the Washington Navy Yard when the gun grabbers began calling once again for a ban on scary-looking guns. One problem: No scary-looking AR-15 was used in the shooting.

The guns recovered, according to CNN yesterday, were a Remington Model 870 shotgun and two handguns. The shotgun belonged to Alexis. There was no clear indication where the handguns came from. They “may” have come from base guards.
But that didn’t stop CNN, the rest of the mainstream media or other gun grabbers from pointing out (as they always do, truth be damned) that Alexis could have used one, if he’d chosen to, because anybody can buy one at any time without a background check and, well, AR-15s have been used before and, well, “Don’t they look scary?” And, after all, Adam Lanza and James Holmes and some other guys have used them to kill a bunch of people so President Barack Obama should just issue some executive orders and Congress had to get busy banning scary-looking guns, if not guns in general. And it all has to happen yesterday because, well, people are getting killed, but don’t look in the dumpster for the bodies of all the aborted babies because they don’t count anyway.
Never mind that guns are already banned in Washington, D.C., and on the grounds of the Navy Yard, which is why Alexis was able to kill 12 and injure 14 before he died. And never mind that he probably shouldn’t have been on the Navy Yard to begin with, given his previous run-ins with law enforcement and the fact that he was being treated for “a host of serious mental issues, including paranoia” and “had been hearing voices in his head.” And never mind that that means he was likely on some type of SSRI (selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor) medication, which is commonly prescribed for people suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), which Alexis had previously claimed.
In fact, the mental disorder and medications (and possibly violent video games), not the weapon, seem to be the common denominators in mass shootings. Go here to see what I mean.
Meanwhile, the gun grabbers are in full shriek and attempting once again to disarm Americans even as Obama is wide open arming al-Qaida terrorists in Syria with the military variant of the same AR-15 — along with a lot of other weapons Americans can’t legally own, because Americans can’t be trusted with them.
But there’s no mention of looking into the pharmaceuticals Alexis, Lanza and Holmes, et al., were on. No MSM organization can be bothered by trivial details like that. Those are hard questions.
And there are never any questions about whether there’s a causal relationship between mass shooters and an obsession over violent video games. More hard questions.
And what about the second shooter? Why does there always seem to be a second shooter in these instances who disappears down the memory hole?
And why does it always seem The Associated Press or some other “news organization” has the story before it actually happens?

These questions aren’t asked because these things don’t fit the narrative that gun grabbers are pushing. Nor does the fact that in the past 30 years, mass killings have accounted for less than .10 percent of all murders, according to the FBI. Even anti-gun Bloomberg had to admit that.

Piers Morgan Unloads on Pro Gun Panel in Epic Shouting Match Over Navy Yard Shooting

NOTE: Last night, Piers Morgan assumed that an AR-15 was used. It turns out that wasn’t even true — the shooter just used a shotgun, just like what Joe Biden said people should do. Will they change their argument? Don’t count on it.
Click here to see Piers get destroyed by two pro-gun women earlier this year.
Read about how to stop mass shootings here. It’s the only way.

Judge Napolitano: Military Officers Should Be Able to Defend Themselves

Andrew Napolitano, a former judge, is one of the most consistent defenders of the constitution and natural rights in America today. He’s spent years pointing out the hypocrisy of statism and leftism.
This morning, he stopped by “Fox and Friends” to discuss the shooting and had important words for Americans to listen to if they want to stop these senseless mass shootings. He said, “If Naval officers had been armed yesterday, a lot fewer people would have been killed.” So true.
A few minutes later, he followed up with, “Candidly, we have a problem with the military. If you cannot trust military officers to carry weapons on a military base after Ford Hood and after this, then people don’t believe in the Second Amendment at all.”

You can watch the entire video here.
“The Judge” is right. It’s time to end “gun-free zones” for the military. If we can’t trust them, then we’ve fully abandoned common sense. This is the only way to stop a mass shooting, period.
If you want to see the opposite of this kind of common sense, then click here and watch Piers Morgan. He got completely destroyed by 3 pro-gun individuals at the same time. His response? He just yelled and ignored the points, of course.
Most people can see through this. That’s why we keep stopping their anti-gun agenda.

Fort Hood 2009? CNN Anchor Can't Remember the Last Shooting at 'U.S. Military Facility'

    By Matt Hadro | September 16, 2013 | 11:14

    A A

<<UPDATED BELOW>> During CNN's live coverage of Monday's shooting at the Washington Navy Yard, anchor Carol Costello asked when the last time was that a gunman wreaked "havoc at a U.S. military facility." In 2009, a jihadist killed 13 in a mass-shooting at Fort Hood in Texas.

"I used to work in Washington, live in Washington. This seems so unusual to me that a gunman could create this kind of havoc at a U.S. military facility," Costello stated. "Have you ever heard of it happening before, Brian?" she asked correspondent Brian Todd, reporting live from the vicinity of the shooting. [Video below the break. Audio here.]

Costello added that "this is so unusual, because this is such a heavily-secured military facility. I've worked in Washington for many years, I've never heard of such a thing happening." She may have been referring to shootings at military bases near Washington, D.C., though her question simply referred to a "U.S. military facility."
[UPDATE: 9/17/13 10:06 a.m. EDT] Costello did reference the Fort Hood shooting on Tuesday morning's coverage of the Navy Yard shooting. She was talking about cost-cutting and security at Washington, D.C. military installations:
"It just seems strange to me, in light of what happened at Fort Hood, right? After 9/11, this was like the most secure city in the world, let's say. I mean, there was barred access to many government buildings, including military installations. So why cut costs there, at the most important point, because you want to keep your military personnel safe?"
Below is a transcript of the exchange, which aired on CNN Newsroom on September 16 at 10:01 a.m. EDT:
CAROL COSTELLO: I used to work in Washington, live in Washington. This seems so unusual to me that a gunman could create this kind of havoc at a U.S. military facility.

    BRIAN TODD: Yes.

COSTELLO: Have you ever heard of it happening before, Brian?

TODD: I'm sorry, Carol. I missed that question. Could you repeat it please?

COSTELLO: I was just saying that this is so unusual, because this is such a heavily-secured military facility. I've worked in Washington for many years, I've never heard of such a thing happening.

TODD: Well, we haven't either in this area, Carol. This is the first time we've seen something like this, at least in many, many years. Now you remember the Fort Hood shooting in 2009, where that was a member of the service who was convicted eventually of doing that shooting.

NY Times Falsely Claims Naval Yard Gunman Tried To Buy An AR-15 But Was Stopped By Virginia Law…

Why is it false? Because contrary to what the NYT’s claims, Virginia law allows an out-of-state buyer to purchase an AR-15.
    Via Washington Times:
The liberal media is so obsessed with linking the Navy Yard shooter with the AR-15 rifle that it is making up false tales of Aaron Alexis trying to obtain one.
The New York Times attempts to give the impression that a so-called assault-weapon law stopped Alexis from buying a rifle in Virginia, but that is not true.
The Times has a story Tuesday on its homepage with the headline “State Law Stopped Gunman From Buying Rifle, Officials Say.”
The first line says: “The gunman who killed 12 people at the Washington Navy Yard on Monday test fired an AR-15 assault rifle at a Virginia gun store last week but was stopped from buying one because state law there prohibits the sale of such weapons to out-of-state buyers, according to two senior law enforcement officials.”
Apparently neither the reporter nor his editors took the time to fact check their vague “law enforcement officials” sources.
“Virginia law does not prohibit the sale of assault rifles to out-of-state citizens who have proper identification,” Dan Peterson, a Virginia firearms attorney, told me Tuesday night. The required identification is proof of residency in another state and of U.S. citizenship, which can be items like a passport, birth certificate or voter identification card.
The Commonwealth defines “assault firearm” as any semiautomatic centerfire rifle or pistol with a magazine which will hold more than 20 rounds or can accommodate a silencer or is equipped with a folding stock.
John Frazer, also a firearms attorney in the Commonwealth, told me that, “State law in Virginia — like most states — allows purchase of rifles or shotguns by residents of other states. Virginia simply requires some additional forms of identification.”

The story is a long way from coming into focus. The little we do know about Monday's tragic mass shooting at a Navy Yard in Washington, D.C. is stirring a national debate.

First, here's the back-story. It was September 16th, around 8:20 A.M. when 34 year-old Aaron Alexis opened fire inside a Navy facility. According to the FBI, he was a contract employee who had legitimate access to the Navy Yard and used a valid pass.

Alexis reportedly killed 12 people ranging in age from 46 to 73. Alexis was killed by police in a gun battle. He reportedly entered the facility with a shotgun purchased legally at a local gun shop.

This shooting is the worst at a U.S. military installation since the 2009 shooting at Fort Hood, Texas in which Major Nadal Hasan opened fire, killing 13 people and wounding 39 others. The shooting in the Ft. Hood case was religiously motivated. http://www.infowars.com/navy-shooter-...

This Picture Might Explain The Journalistic Confusion About Guns

September 18, 2013 by Ben Bullard

With all the mass confusion among reporters in the mainstream media over which bad guy used which bad gun in which bad murdering spree, isn’t it about time someone gave these hapless journalists a little help?

One Twitter user thought so. On Wednesday, Mike Morrison, a self-described “advocate of Liberty,” offered this handy visual reference guide. From now on, Piers Morgan, you have no excuses.

Democratic Lawmaker Expresses Disdain For Anyone Who Likes Guns, Bibles

September 18, 2013 by Sam Rolley

Liking firearms and the 2nd Amendment protections which allow you to own them makes you a supporter of mass murder, according to Representative Steve Cohen (D-Tenn.).
Cohen, a member of the House Judiciary Committee, said during a recent MSNBC appearance that he was not surprised by the September 16th mass shooting at the Washington Naval Yard. He said the tragic event resulted directly from a lack of action on gun-control legislation following the shootings in Newtown, Conn.
“It’s no Newtown. People are almost inured to it, because they’ve seen what happened in the Senate, and seen the votes can’t be cobbled together,” he said of the impact the most recent shooting had on members of the House.
Cohen went on to insult any of his colleagues who support the 2nd Amendment.
“And in the House, on the Judiciary Committee, which I sit on, that’s Murderers’ Row; that’s Foxx, Gehrig and Ruth. They all like their guns,” he said.
Cohen added, “I think their guns are next there to their Bibles. I’m not sure which they find more important to them.”
With regard to Republicans, he concluded, “I think guns trump Bibles on that side of the aisle.”
