Mark Levin Calls Out Republican Leadership: ‘Are You More Important Than the Country?’

Nationally syndicated radio host Mark Levin, frustrated with Republican leadership and their failure to stand up to Obama’s unilateral executive amnesty, asked Senator Mitch McConnell and Speaker John Boehner, “Are you two, and those who support you, your surrogates and the rest, more important than the country?”

“You know, the world didn’t begin today; America didn’t begin today; and the Republican Party didn’t begin today,” stated Levin. “There are things going on in this country that require true statesman, men and women who are looking beyond the next budget cycle, the next appropriation, the next presidential election, the next ten presidential elections.”
And things are not going well today. Levin explained:
“The country has open borders, and our leaders tell us, in essence, that American sovereignty doesn’t matter. As a matter of fact, the disillusion of American sovereignty is a human right to those coming into the country illegally. The disillusion of American sovereignty is an economic shot in the arm. This is what they tell us – that the world’s poor and illiterate coming into the United States by the hundreds of thousands, by the millions – they’ll do jobs Americans won’t do.”
“Addressing the Republicans, and their cheerleaders on cable TV and their mouthpieces all over the place,” Levin lamented that true statesmen do not seem to exist in today’s government. “Our own leaders demean us,” bemoaned Levin. “Our own leaders trash we the people. They deceive us, and they lie to us. Excuses. Deceit. Outright lies.”
Turning his attention to Republican leadership, Mr. Boehner and Mr. McConnell, Levin rhetorically asked a series of questions:
“If you had no intention of defending this republic, of defending the constitution, of defending Congress’s powers under Article I, and as such, defending we the people, why did you run for reelection? If you had no intention of repealing Obamacare, why did you campaign and say you would? If you had no intention of supporting amnesty, why didn’t you campaign and say that? If you truly believe that you don’t have the power to stop a lawless president, why didn’t you campaign and say that?”
“Instead you said the opposite,” remarked Levin. He then continued, pounding the Republican leadership for answers:
“Are you more important than the country? Are you more important than the survival of the republic and our constitutional system?”
The answer, sadly, might just be yes.
“This is absolutely appalling to me,” said Levin, and it might just appall you too.

I think that patriots should not wait until even 2015, to look for politicos whom we can support.

I never thought I'd say this, but the Tea Party folks seem to be the ones who most consistently want to protect American interests. There is variety in the Tea Party, so no doubt patriots will have to focus on individuals, but I like the Tea Party as place to look for patriots.

    Any thoughts?
