Morale among officers at Immigration and Customs Enforcement, already low, has reached a new bottom as illegal immigrants expecting amnesty from President Obama taunt and ridicule the overworked officers, according to a new report.

“Yes,” said one, “working for this agency is hell right now.”

That was the latest message to immigration policy critic Jessica M. Vaughan, director of policy studies for the Center for Immigration Studies. She has charted the woes of the officers who carry out the president’s orders.

In a new paper, she wrote:
“The president’s gradual, calculated dismantling of our immigration system has caused morale to plummet in the agencies of the Department of Homeland Security. Career immigration officials have courageously objected in public, and sometimes resorted to lawsuits to draw attention to the administration’s subversion of the law. In denial about their principled objections to his scheme, now the president is hoping to stifle their voices by offering them a pay increase as part of this outrageous plan. His assumption that they are motivated by money shows just how little respect he has for the men and women who have devoted their careers to public service in immigration.”

Vaughan told Secrets that she has been concerned about morale in ICE and raised the issue with Homeland Secretary Jeh Johnson.

She said that officers are concerned that illegals with criminal records are being released under Obama’s policies, and that some immigrants taunt the officers, believing that the policies protect them.
“Some have told me that illegal alien criminals they have arrested have even taunted them, saying they know the ICE officers can’t do anything to them because of Obama administration policies,” Vaughan told Secrets.
The officers have raised the issues at “town hall” meetings with their superiors.

However, she said, top Homeland officials believe the issue is more about poor pay, not working conditions or the president's policies. As a result, the White House is considering a pay raise as part of the president’s amnesty plan to some 5 million illegals.
“Clearly the administration is trying to triangulate at best, or more likely thinks that it can just dangle the prospects of a pay raise if they would stop objecting to administration non-enforcement policies,” said Vaughan. “I sincerely doubt anyone will fall for it, but it does reveal what he thinks of them,” she added.

President Barack Obama’s administration is unveiling a plan to allow illegal aliens who receive amnesty under the president’s planned executive action—and other aliens as well—to petition the government to bring family members from three Central American countries to the United States.

The plan, from the State Department and U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS), would allow aliens to bring family members from Honduras, Guatemala and El Salvador—the three countries at the center of this past summer’s border crisis—to America.
“The United States is establishing an in-country refugee/parole program in El Salvador, Guatemala, and Honduras to provide a safe, legal, and orderly alternative to the dangerous journey that some children are currently undertaking to the United States,” the State Department said in a press release. Also:

This program will allow certain parents who are lawfully present in the United States to request access to the U.S. Refugee Admissions Program for their children still in one of these three countries. Children who are found ineligible for refugee admission but still at risk of harm may be considered for parole on a case-by-case basis. The refugee/parole program will not be a pathway for undocumented parents to bring their children to the United States, but instead, the program will provide certain vulnerable, at-risk children an opportunity to be reunited with parents lawfully resident in the United States.

ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION CRISIS: Rhetoric Meets Reality

Okay, so by now the realization of the Republican midterm election sweep has had time to sink in for both sides. The implications of this article’s title applies to both. President Obama has made it crystal clear that, regardless of who did well in the election, he plans to have his way on immigration before year’s end, and Republicans need to take a very sobering look at what that means in reality.

Before you start saying that I don’t care about “…the poor and the down trodden, those only yearning to be free…etc., etc.”, consider this. I, like most Americans, don’t hold it against anyone who desires a better life and works towards that goal – legally. It’s illegals I have a problem with. Doesn’t the word “illegal” even have any meaning any more? Illegals are criminals, pure and simple.

Ah, but what would Jesus do? For starters, I personally believe He’d obey the law. The Bible doesn’t speak on immigration as we know it. It does, however, have a lot to say regarding those who sojourn within your lands. Now the word “sojourn” is interesting. Found mostly in the Old Testament, sojourn means (according to the Merriam Webster’s Collegiate Dictionary): “a temporary stay in a country; to stay as a temporary resident.”

The first mention of “sojourners” is found in Exodus 12:48-49. Verse 48 is quite long, but talks about strangers who desire to stay in Israel needing to be circumcised if they wish to observe Passover. Verse 49 says: “The same law applies to the native born and to the alien living among you.”

In Leviticus 16:29, the concept of strangers (sojourners) keeping the law of the land is again mentioned in regard to observing the Day of Atonement, or Yom Kippur. Further on in Leviticus 18:26, we find this: “You must keep my decrees and my laws.” That section of Leviticus discusses prohibitions of certain practices, that both native born Jews and sojourners in the land were expected to adhere to.

The entire point of the Old testament scriptures is that the law of the land is to be kept by everyone who lives there, regardless if they were born there or not. Add to this the fact that Christ Himself never repudiated anything from the Old Testament. Draw your own conclusion.
Hospitality towards strangers was held in high regard in Israel, especially in Jerusalem when pilgrims were present for festival days. Alfred Edersheim, in his book Sketches of Jewish Social Life, says this in regard to rabbinical teaching on hospitality: “…no man was to account a house as only his own…the Tractate Aboth (1.5) mentions these as two out of the three sayings of Jose, the son of Jochanan-‘Let they house be wide open, and let the poor be the children of they house.’” (p.47)

As a Christian and as an American citizen, I can choose to be as open and generous as I want to be. That’s my prerogative. But my personal choices do not supercede the law of the land. For that matter, neither do the personal choices of the “sojourners” ( in this case, illegals) within our borders override the law. That’s Biblical truth, neither denied or repudiated by Christ. So, with all this in mind, I’d like to suggest methods to start dealing with our illegal immigration problem.

A PROPOSAL (In five parts)

* Immediately close the borders. Secure with a fence, and armed guards. Guards would have discretion to use deadly force when needed.

* Enact a 25 year moratorium on ALL immigration from all parts of the world. This would also include stopping all political asylums, amnesties and “guest worker” programs. The moratorium would be up for review every five years. It would then be decided at these times to either keep restrictions in place or ease them somewhat.

* The review process would be done by a commission of five governors, from the following states: Nevada, New Mexico, Texas, Florida and New Jersey. The impact of illegal immigration is felt more on the local level than on the overall national level. ( Ultra-liberal California has been excluded from this list on purpose. All the other states mentioned have the next highest illegal populations and therefore bear the brunt of the expense and other problems.)

* Either repeal the 14th Amendment or at least remove Section One that states anyone born here or naturalized is a citizen. This would remove a huge incentive for illegals. Repeal the Dream Act, and change the law to make illegal entry into the country a federal crime.

* Start deportation proceedings on a state-by-state basis. Any state that refuses to do so will immediately loose all federal monies (i.e., for education, community block grants, high way and other infrastructure repair, etc., etc.) Each state would also be required to enact laws making it illegal to rent to, or employ illegals, or offer any tax payer funded assistance of any kind.
Law abiding American citizens have had enough. We’ve all heard plenty of “hold their feet to the fire” rhetoric. Time for talk is over. Immigration looks like it’s going to be the first test for that. The fecal matter is about to hit the air circulation device full force.

HAMMER TIME: Krauthammer, ‘Amnesty An Impeachable Offense’

Syndicated columnist Charles Krauthammer compared the president’s likely action to that of a South American dictator, saying the move would be “an impeachable offense.”
“That’s the way the system is in Venezuela,” he told Fox News host Megyn Kelly on Thursday. “If the the caudillo isn’t able to get stuff done through congress, he issues a decree and that’s it, and he’ll arrest anybody who gets in the way.”

Super-Amnesty Will Turn Every City into Detroit

After another bloody weekend in Chicago, Mayor Rahm Emanuel branded the shootings unacceptable and the city’s top cop demanded more gun control laws. Chicago’s murder rate has actually dropped since concealed carry became legal. Emanuel’s lawsuits over his illegal gun control laws have left the already struggling city deep in the hole and forced to cover the NRA’s million dollars in legal bills.

Concealed carry paid off over that bloody weekend when a vet carrying a gun returned fire stopping a massacre before it happened. The original shooter ended up in the hospital, but nobody ended up in the morgue, which kept the death toll for the weekend down to fourteen.

Fourteen isn’t pretty, but it’s better than twenty or thirty.

Chicago’s murder rate in 1992 was double what it is today. The death rate was at 33.7 out of 100,000 which meant that you had a pretty good chance of being shot in Chicago. Today it’s down to 15 out of 100,000, which is small comfort to those ending up in the morgue, but it gives everyone else much better odds of surviving to see what ingenious ways the next corrupt mayoral administration will use to rip off the city.

Back in 1992, the cops also blamed guns for the murder rate. But it wasn’t the guns that were killing people. It was the gangs. Now the murder rate is down, but the number of shootings is up. To Chicago’s police boss, that’s a problem, as if it makes a difference to the deceased whether he’s shot, stabbed or dropped in the water wearing cement overshoes. But fighting guns is easier than fighting crime.

The gun obsession is one of the few things that cops and leftists have in common. It’s the last politically acceptable form of prohibitionism in a society that enthusiastically legalizes drugs, even if possessing crack cocaine is statistically much more likely to lead you to kill a man, than possessing a gun will.

Every shooting spree bypasses the obvious problem with calls for more gun laws and something for the youth to do over the weekend that doesn’t involve shooting up the local housing project. This weekend, Rahm Emanuel took on the problem of funding more teen centers while Chicago’s top cop blustered about more gun laws. And then having successfully talked around the issue, they all went home.

The left loves root causes more than it loves red shirts and black bandanas, a fashion choice that it shares with some of the gangs responsible for most of the shootings.

America’s gun violence problem is urban. It’s localized in Democratic enclaves. And it overlaps neatly with its corrupt political machines. It has nothing to do with the NRA and a great deal to do with the party of social engineering, the welfare state and gun bans.

And illegal immigration.

Homicide rates overlap with unemployment rates, especially when accounting for the demographic populations of young minority men who are statistically more likely to kill or be killed.

92% of black male teens in Chicago don’t have a job. In Detroit, 50% of black men are unemployed. It’s not that there aren’t any jobs, but the entry level jobs have been mostly going to immigrants.

The Center for Immigration Studies found that under Obama two-thirds of jobs went to immigrants, both legal and illegal. Throw in a massive illegal alien amnesty and the rush of illegal aliens into the country will turn the employment figures of every city into Detroit and Chicago.

The black male unemployment rate in New York was at 33%. And the murder rate in New York is significantly lower than in Detroit or Chicago. But how long will that last if the unemployment rate in New York rises above 50%? Before long the marginal gangs will swell to monstrous sizes controlling entire neighborhoods. Anyone who can will flee and the city will once again become what it was.

The same process will take place in most major American cities.

The United States of America does not have a shortage of workers. It has a shortage of jobs. The irresponsible immigration policy has created a surplus of workers. Illegal alien amnesty will make that surplus much worse. Legalize twelve million illegal aliens and another twelve million will come. Those who can’t find jobs, will find gangs. Those who lose jobs to them will also find gangs.

The gangs will fight each other for control of entire neighborhoods and the crime wave will set America back decades.

After the 1986 amnesty, the number of murders, which had begun to fall in the early eighties, rose again. They did not return to a pre-amnesty level until 1997. Rapes have only recently returned to a pre-amnesty level. Now the progress we’ve made is about to be undone all over again.

In 1986, murder rates suddenly rose mysteriously in major cities. The New York Times described the crime rates as being the highest since the 1970s.

In Chicago, murders increased by 20%. In New York they increased by 20%. The cities rushed to crack down on guns while insisting that they were mystified by the drastic increase.

The guns weren’t the problem. The illegal alien amnesty which had created a magnet was. Illegal aliens with fake documents headed in hoping to take advantage of amnesty. Later newly legalized immigrants invited their family members to join them. Even before the amnesty took effect, crime rates spiked.

Amnesty advocates claim that immigrants aren’t taking jobs from Americans because they are more likely to be employed at the lower and higher ends of the marketplace. And that’s half true. What it really means is that they displace trained technical workers at the high end of the marketplace. That leads to a further erosion of the native middle class, but it doesn’t directly lead to gang violence.

At the lower end of the marketplace, they not only displace workers, but they displace the workers that might have been. Teenagers who would have started working regular jobs instead roam around aimlessly. The lost entry level jobs are substituted with crime. Neighborhoods fall apart and gang violence increases as gang members compete for turf in the new drug marketplace. And the rest is crime statistics and children taken to morgues in cities that can barely keep the lights on.

If we want to repeat the same cycle again, Super-Amnesty, an amnesty several times bigger than the one in 1986, will make it happen. Entire cities will fall into gang violence. Their economies will collapse and that will have a ripple effect on their suburbs and on entire states.

America will be a more dangerous and poorer place. And the politicians will talk some more about banning guns and about building more teen centers for the youth to hang out in between shootings.
