Leading US radio talk show host and former Reagan official Mark Levin gave a fiery interview to Fox News’ Megyn Kelly earlier today. You can watch the video and read the transcript at RealClear Politics.
According to Levin:

I'm not into imperial presidents who act imperial and speak imperial and Obama forgets there's a Constitution. Yes, he keeps telling us he won reelection. Congratulations, but guess what? The Constitution wasn't up for election, it's not up for a referendum. He has to comply with it, too.
He was sent back to Washington, but he's got a strict list of rules that he has to follow as president. When he gets up there and starts saying, if Congress doesn't do this, I'm going to do this unilaterally, it violates separation of power a lot of the times. And this is a man pushing the edge of the envelope as far as I'm concerned, whether it's the appointment clause, whether it's his unilateral action on immigration, whether it's trashing the commerce clause and the tax clauses under Obamacare. Now they're talking about executive orders on the Second Amendment. They've issued regulations on First Amendment attacking religious liberty. This notion that he might be able to lift the debt ceiling, you know, unilaterally under the Fourteenth Amendment.
… I think we have an imperial president, he sounds imperial, he's arrogant as hell and I'm furious about this and I'm going to tell you why. We are a magnificent country. We don't need to be turned upside down. We don't need to run from crisis to crisis to crisis. He's bankrupting this country.

A large number of Americans will wholeheartedly agree with Levin’s analysis, which followed Barack Obama’s final press conference at the end of his first term of office, before his second term inauguration on Monday. Levin’s words will resonate with hard-working, over-taxed households across the country, and with good reason. There was not an ounce of humility in the president’s remarks, as he lambasted Congress and flat out refused any negotiation on the debt ceiling issue. There were no words of gratitude to the American people, or any sense that his administration was there to serve the country, as opposed to lording over it. There was no attempt to reach out to the nearly 60 million Americans who didn’t vote for Obama in November, or the 30 Republican Governors who represent a huge swathe of the nation outside of the East and West coasts.
With a straight face, Mr. Obama demanded that legislators pay for his administration’s bloated spending, warning that the United States must not be a “deadbeat nation” by failing to pay its bills. As Tim Stanley noted earlier, “Obama says Congress must pay its dinner bill. But he’s the guy who ordered the caviar and champagne.” The president boasted of his “agenda for new jobs, new opportunity, and new security for the middle class,” while conveniently ignoring the fact that 12.2 million Americans are still out of work, the national debt is above $16 trillion, and more than 42 million people depend on food stamps, up 70 percent since 2007.
It was the clearest signal yet from the White House that Obama’s second term in office will be deeply arrogant in tone, dismissive of any criticism, contemptuous of Congress, and averse to political compromise. It will also not be serious at all about cutting the deficit, reducing government spending, or addressing entitlement reform. For, as Levin argues, this is an imperial presidency, one that frequently acts with impunity and lavishly spends taxpayers’ money with abandon while encouraging a growing dependency on the federal government, with a staggering 128 million Americans now on government programmes – 41.3 percent of the population. Today’s defiant White House pres conference does not bode well for Obama’s second term. The president’s first four years were an economic disaster. Expect more of the same, and even worse, in the next four.
