Charlie Kirk, Turning Point Action endorse Mo Brooks in U.S. Senate runoff election

The U.S. Senate candidacy of U.S. Rep. Mo Brooks (R-Huntsville) on Monday picked up the endorsement of conservative activist Charlie Kirk and right-wing political advocacy organization Turning Point Action.

Kirk founded Turning Point in 2012 as a nonprofit organization geared toward advocating for the conservative movement on high school and college campuses.

Kirk took to social media on Monday and declared Brooks to be the “strongest candidate in the race.”

“America can’t afford to let Red States like Alabama send a Moderate to represent them in the Senate,” wrote Kirk in a tweet. “[Mo Brooks] is the strongest candidate in the race—he will protect your [Second Amendment] Rights, Fight [Critical Race Theory], and Secure our Border. [Turning Point Action] is proud to give him our complete & total endorsement.”

In a statement touting the endorsement, Brooks advised that conservatives were in a “fight for the soul of our nation.”

“I’m so thankful to have the strong endorsement of Charlie Kirk and Turning Point Action,” stated Brooks. “They know that at this moment in history our country needs proven conservatives in the Senate. I’m glad to stand with Charlie in this fight for the soul of our nation, and ask you to stand with us.”

Kirk’s endorsement of Brooks’ candidacy comes a day after the North Alabama congressman launched a social media campaign urging supporters to join his effort to win back the endorsement of former President Donald Trump, who rescinded his support of Brooks in late March.

Brooks will face former Business Council of Alabama head Katie Britt in the June 21 Republican primary runoff election. The candidate that earns the GOP nod will advance to the November 8 general election to determine who will replace retiring U.S. Sen. Richard Shelby (R-Tuscaloosa).

Great news! Thanks for posting. I hope Charlie Kirk will consider going to Alabama to rally activists and voters for Mo Brooks in the runup to the runoff!
