MEX Archdioceses slams U.S. Supreme Court.

    TRANSLATED FROM:
    http://www.jornada.unam.mx/2008/03/31/i ... e=013n1pol

The Premier Archdiocese of Mexico reproached to the government and Mexican authorities 'the passiveness, indolence and cowardice' to the ones that have acted after the decision of the Supreme Court of the U.S. which ruled against the decision of the International Court in the Hague regarding the respect of the 51 Mexicans condemned to death in that country. This behavior –he said– is a 'shame'.

In the editorial of its weekly From the faith, the archdioceses indicated that though is a duty to apply laws to those people that have broken the law, no State can assume lawfully the faculty to remove life from a human being.

'Though unworthy the arrogant decision of the U.S. Supreme Court, we are not surprised of the action of our neighboring northern country, that believes that they have the authority to judge any person, but does not permit its citizens to be submitted to international courts when they have broken the law or committed atrocities of lese humanity, just as it has done when conducting in deceptive preventive wars declared by the United States in unilateral form, justifying war by ending terrorism and in which, ironically, they end up doing, in the countries they invaded, exactly the same thing they want to pursue'.

In prior days, the archdioceses and the cardinal Norberto Rivera, in a statement, condemned the decision of the American Court of Justice, that determined that the state of Texas is not obligated to revise the processes of 51 Mexicans condemned to death in state courts, rules against the failure of the International Court of the Hauge, that orders the review of these judgments, after determining that in the detention of those people they rights were violated regarding the consular assistance that Convention of Vienna of 1963 grants.

In their pronouncement, the archdioceses asked itself what do our political establishment and our rulers do to defend these Mexicans; it asked if these same characters would have a bit of time in the middle of their innumerable external and internal conflicts and the 'fierce fight for power' to fulfill their duty of defending not only these countrymen that are on the verge of being murdered, but the millions of migrants to whom each day their human and labor rights are respected less'.

Besides, he insists that the 'racist and arrogant conduct' from the U.S. will continue until the government of Mexico assumes a firm attitude that gains respect, and is responsible for the luck of millions of Mexicans to whom poverty has expelled them due to the failure of social projects, which have not generated welfare and progress.

He insists that the attribution to give and to remove life only corresponds to God. 'It is a shame that in full celebration of Easter, the festival of life, the American Supreme Court is sponsoring death, and Mexico an international example of passiveness, indolence and cowardice', he concludes.

no ... The Archdiocese of Mexico and as far as that the Catholic church in the US need to merge in Mexico .. the US Catholic church has merged into a social ethnocentric child molestation ring and I do not believe the church in Mexico is any better

they are one in the same

I will agree with a part of this. Presidente Jorge Bush should be charged with Treason, Sedition and War Crimes and sentenced by a jury of his Peers in the US before the World Court gets a hold of him

The Premier Archdiocese of Mexico does not admonish the Mexican drug cartels and their violence or the crimes against humanity drug addiction causes--guess the drug cartels contribute heavily to the Sunday collection plate.
