SAN FRANCISCO - Mayor Gavin Newsom said Thursday that The City will not comply with any federal legislation that criminalizes efforts to help illegal immigrants.
The mayor also denounced a bipartisan congressional proposal that would beef up border security and allow as many as 12 million illegal immigrants to gain legal status.

That is the Mayor talking not the PEOPLE. I live in the SF/Bay Area and the majority of the people I know are totally against illegal immigration. Just like with the Iraq war issue. People here are against Bush starting this war based on lies they are not against the troops at all. The media is very biased here and reports only one side.

That's exactly what Mayor Daley has declared in Chicago. No police or government officials are to obey that. It's corrupt from the bottom up.
