    Message from Ron Paul

    February 8, 2008

Whoa! What a year this has been. And what achievements we have had. If I may quote Trotsky of all people, this Revolution is permanent. It will not end at the Republican convention. It will not end in November. It will not end until we have won the great battle on which we have embarked. Not because of me, but because of you. Millions of Americans -- and friends in many other countries -- have dedicated themselves to the principles of liberty: to free enterprise, limited government, sound money, no income tax, and peace. We will not falter so long as there is one restriction on our persons, our property, our civil liberties. How much I owe you. I can never possibly repay your generous donations, hard work, whole-hearted dedication and love of freedom. How blessed I am to be associated with you. Carol, of course, sends her love as well.

Let me tell you my thoughts. With Romney gone, the chances of a brokered convention are nearly zero. But that does not affect my determination to fight on, in every caucus and primary remaining, and at the convention for our ideas, with just as many delegates as I can get. But with so many primaries and caucuses now over, we do not now need so big a national campaign staff, and so I am making it leaner and tighter. Of course, I am committed to fighting for our ideas within the Republican party, so there will be no third party run. I do not denigrate third parties -- just the opposite, and I have long worked to remove the ballot-access restrictions on them. But I am a Republican, and I will remain a Republican.

I also have another priority. I have constituents in my home district that I must serve. I cannot and will not let them down. And I have another battle I must face here as well. If I were to lose the primary for my congressional seat, all our opponents would react with glee, and pretend it was a rejection of our ideas. I cannot and will not let that happen.

In the presidential race and the congressional race, I need your support, as always. And I have plans to continue fighting for our ideas in politics and education that I will share with you when I can, for I will need you at my side. In the meantime, onward and upward! The neocons, the warmongers, the socialists, the advocates of inflation will be hearing much from you and me.

    Sincerely,

    Ron

Ron Paul is an honorable statesman. Not like the rest of the scary beasts.

Thank you for sharing the encouraging letter.

Have you guys met him? I shook his hand at a rally. I was so pumped up I was afraid it might be like a weird religious experience or something, but he was just a guy. Really nice, too.

I have a lot of respect and deep admiration for this man because he is true to the bone about his feelings for this country. How many politicians can say that. This man is a true patriot for America.

    RON PAUL FOREVER!

I really do love Ron Paul. He is the most like the founding fathers of any one of the other candidates. I have made a pledge to moderate Constitution classes for free in my community. I have a wonderful course on the Constitution by Michael Badnarik. He is funny and not boring! You can check the classes on youtube. Just type in the search, Constitution classes Michael Badnarik and they will come up. I learned SO much I bought the cd's and the book that goes with them.

Thanks for the mention of the classes. I will use them to further educate myself and I hope others will too!

Here was an earlier post I made reguarding Ron Paul and people that claim they are fed up with this fiasco the govco has us in.

I have already had peope tell me they wished they would have supported Ron Paul. Isn't that what they always say after the meltdown of the politicail process? Many people said the same about Ross Perot. I voted for Badnarick in 2004. Why? because I love America, the constitution and freedom and I'm tired of crooks, liars, traitors and cheats.

RON PAUL is a TRUE & GREAT AMERICAN!
Unless we get those criminals & make them pay for what they have done to our country and the lawlessness they have sponsored, we are just another Mexico ourselves!

On the down side this basically means he will not be in the Presidential race. He has to run as an Independent or 3rd party candidate or be written in. So in short I see this as concession. The tone he resonates ends up presenting himself as leading a movement, not really someone with a sense of urgency for the next election. The only thing wrong with that is that it fails to see what the '08 election is...Do or die for the United States.

I admire the fact that he is pushing onward for ideology, but ultimately that leaves not a single American left in the running.

    yes

Yes. I honestly believe he is asking us..his supporters , to let him go. He is only in it for us at this point. You know he has said numerous times that as long as his supporters want him to continue and as long as we donate money he will stay in. I consider it more important that he keeps his congressional seat now because he has a neo con running against him. It would be a TRAVESTY if we lose him in congress. Personally, I am going to let him go, have a good cry, pick myself up, dust myself off and KEEP steppin. I will work to assist him in his representative campaign and also in spreading the Ron Paul Philosophy as long as I am here on the planet.

Perhaps now another person will step forward to run as an independent.
