Mexican Ambassador Insists He Won’t Meddle In US Election, Then Slams Trump

Mexican Ambassador to the U.S. Carlos Sada told Mexican daily El Universal Monday “Mexico will not be used as the punching bag for the interests of anyone in the United States.”

Sada, who says in the same interview he won’t meddle in the U.S. presidential elections, says he’s “filled with adrenaline” like a “horse in the starting gate.”

“Whenever Trump slams immigration,” Sada says, “he [Sada] will shoot back with hard data on the benefits of immigration.” The Mexican government announced in March it would start a nationwide diplomatic campaign across the U.S. to counter anti-immigrant election rhetoric.

Besides implicitly going after Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump, Sada also slams the U.S. Senate for holding up the confirmation of a U.S. ambassador to Mexico.

According to Sada, because of the Senate, “[It] weakens inter-locution between the governments.” Despite strongly insinuating how opposed he is to Trump’s candidacy, Sada states he would not meddle with U.S. presidential elections.

Sala is not the first Mexican official to publicly condemn Trump’s statements on immigration. The Mexican Treasury Secretary Luis Videgaray Caso stated in March his country would not contribute “a single peso” to a border wall.

Former Mexican President Vicente Fox made international headlines in February when he told Univision and Fusion’s Jorge Ramos he was “not going to pay for that ****ing wall.” The new ambassador arrives in Washington, D.C., in May.

Sada needs to understand that whenever Trump slams immigration he's speaking for the American People. Many of US have already seen the phony pro-immigration "hard data" he wants to "shoot back with". And if it was up for discussion, which it isn't, we have our own data we rely on to make our own decisions here in the US about our own country and what's best for our citizens.

You can run your drug cartel backed "diplomatic campaign" all you want, but it won't change the American Voter, it won't change the US election, and it won't change the outcome or its impact on Mexico. In the United States "diplomats" don't determine US policy, they simply politely explain it to other countries.
