Mexican Trucks Start Sat on Busiest Day

Just saw on the reader at the bottom of MSNBC that the Mexican trucks will start rolling on Saturday, one of the busiest holiday travelling days of the year. Teamsters Union is warning of accidents and loss of American jobs.

American jobs? I have visited Mexico in the past, I have seen the way they drive down there. I am more concerned with loss of American lives

Who gave the final okay for this nonsense to happen? We have enough people on the road who have no business being there. Now these trucks. Lord help us!

Our President went against the advice of Congress and the Department of Transportation because I guess he thought the illegals weren't killing enough American citizens.

WASHINGTON – The Teamsters union said Wednesday it will file suit to block a controversial Bush administration plan to open the border to long haul Mexican truck traffic as early as Saturday.

Union officials said their attorneys have been told by government lawyers that the administration expects to receive approval from the Department of Transportation's inspector general to begin the program Friday.

Legislation passed by Congress prohibits the agency from going forward with the program until the inspector general certifies the government has met congressional requirements.

The Teamsters, other trucking and safety organizations and dozens of lawmakers have sought to block the program, which they contend is unsafe. The union is seeking an emergency injunction from the Ninth Circuit U.S. Court of Appeals in San Francisco.

So what's going to be in those trucks?? Illegal aliens? Drugs? Terrorists?

What a total disaster this is going to turn out to be.
Calderon was absolutely right when he said...."Where there is a Mexican, there is Mexico".

Probably...How far are these Mexican trucks going to be allowed into our country? Is this the precursor to the NAFTA highway?

    Can anyone ID this location?

Using Google Earth go to El Paso, TX
Zoom in, and move West, going along the US - Mexico Border into New Mexico. In the middle of desert, and in the middle of nowhere is what looks like a trunk depot. It has a road that goes south over the border and deep into Mexico. The other direction goes North and connects with Interstate 10 (I-10). It looks like it’s been there for some time.

I have never been to Mexico, so all I know about how they drive there is from two sources, stories from those who have observed them in Mexico, and the way most of them drive here! This is more a safety issue than anything else; those people have to be some of the world's worst drivers!
