Chick-Fil-A has received considerable negative press in recent days due to their decision to pull the plug on their giving to pro-family charities such as Salvation Army to appease the LGBT lobby.
While that news may have angered millions of Christians, Chick-Fil-A’s behavior is nothing new. Their betrayal of their Christian supporters has been apart of a years-long process, as evidenced by a contribution to the Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC) in 2017.

According to their IRS 990 form in 2017, the Chick-Fil-A Foundation gave $2,500 to the SPLC, a group that exists largely to profile and stigmatize Christians. The SPLC once defamed the Family Research Council (FRC) as a hate group, which was the motive given by a left-wing terrorist who targeted the building’s headquarters for a shooting rampage.

“Tax reports have now exposed Chick-fil-A for funding the anti-Christian Southern Poverty Law Center; an organization linked in federal court to domestic terrorism after their smear campaign of Christian organizations resulted in a shooting in which the gunman planned to smear Chick-fil-A sandwiches in the faces of his victims,” FRC President Tony Perkins said in a statement.

Terrorist Floyd Corkins stormed the FRC headquarters in 2012 with a semi-automatic pistol, 100 rounds of ammunition, and over a dozen Chick-Fil-A sandwiches. After he was apprehended by law enforcement, Corkins said that he “wanted to kill the people in the building and then smear a Chick-fil-A sandwich in their face.”
Corkins can be seen here describing how he used the SPLC’s resources as a hit list of sorts to determine the target of his rampage.

FRC building manager Leo Johnson was able to stop the gunman before he was able to go on his rampage, and he was the only individual who was shot by the terrorist. The FRC sees Chick-fil-A’s donation to the organization that essentially enabled this terrorist’s attempted shooting spree as a slap in the face to every Christian and traditionalist who stands against the immoral and Christ-hating Left.

“Not only has Chick-fil-A abandoned donations to Christian groups including the Salvation Army, it has donated to one of the most extreme anti-Christian groups in America. Anyone who opposes the SPLC, including many Protestants, Catholics, Jews, Muslims, and traditional conservatives, is slandered and slapped with the ‘extremist’ label or even worse, their ‘hate group’ designation,” Perkins said.

While Rev. Franklin Graham was duped by the trite lip service of Chick-fil-A CEO Dan Cathy, the FRC makes it abundantly clear that the popular chicken restaurant chain has betrayed their customer base. Perkins urges Christians to take their business elsewhere.
“It’s time for Christians to find a fast food alternative to Chick-fil-A,” Perkins concluded.
