Minutemen founder Jim Gilchrist and co-author Jerome Corsi will discuss their new book tonight on the Fox News Channel show "Hannity and Colmes."

The program airs at 9 p.m. Eastern and is repeated at 2 a.m.

"Minutemen: The Battle to Secure America's Border" is a first-hand account from the front lines, describing in vivid detail how the nation's southern border has disintegrated into a Wild West of human trafficking, drug smuggling and violent gangs.

Today, amid angry, shouting protesters, Gilchrist and Corsi kicked off their book tour at Ground Zero in New York to make the point that border insecurity makes the U.S. more vulnerable to terrorism.

Dedicating the book to the families of survivors of 9-11, Gilchrist said no one would have believed it if told Sept. 12, 2001, that U.S. borders would still be wide open, making the country as vulnerable to terrorism today as ever.

"The terrorist hijackers on 9-11 were in this country illegally," notes Gilchrist, a Marine Corps veteran and recipient of the Purple Heart. "We might have avoided that tragedy had the federal government been willing to enforce the immigration laws already on the books. But five years and thousands of lives later, Washington, D.C., still refuses to do its job. That's why I organized the Minuteman Project, and that's also why I felt compelled to write this book."

"Minutemen" features a number of shocking facts:


The real number of illegal aliens in the country is not 12 million, which the federal government claims, but closer to 30 million.

The IRS – famous for hounding citizens who make honest mistakes on their returns – has paid out $10 billion in refunds and credits to illegal aliens who used fraudulent Social Security numbers, and it has no intention of going after those who've made fraudulent claims.

Over 3,000 illegal aliens suspected of murdering Americans have fled to Mexico, where they often live openly and without fear of arrest.

I'm getting the popcorn ready now! I will definitely be watching it, will tape it and send it out to all my congressional representatives (seriously).

It's nice that some air time is finally going to be given to this issue.
Only because of their book, unfortunately. I have almost given up on Fox News, but will watch tonight.
