Innocent Children's Movie Or Agenda Driven Propaganda???

I wanted to tell you all about an experience my family had tonight.

Being Mother's Day, I wanted just to spend some family time with my husband and the kids tonight. So we rented the movie "Happy Feet". Have you all seen this movie? It was promoted as a sweet happy dancing penguin movie.

If you have not seen this movie, See it Just to see what absolute propaganda they are forcing down our kids throats. I am so sick of this!

The movie starts out on a sweet note but then turns dark. The little star of the movie is an outcast from the group because he is different. The group is led by a stern heartless leader (with a scottish accent) so finally the little penguin leaves his group and happens upon a new flock of very cool very accepting and happy penguins ....who have strong Hispanic accents and mannerisms.
The penguin brings his new friends back to his own flock only to be scorned for bringing the foreigners into the flock....they call him a traitor. they claim that the foreigners are the reason that they are starving and without fish to eat. The penguin then sets out to find out the TRUE cause of their starvation..turns out it is what the movie refers to as ALIENS....mankind. There are references to over fishing of the waters and misuse of the environment.
Before the movie ends....it is a revolution against the "establishment' of old thinkers. After the big change, even the old thinkers reform and conform to the new way.
And the UN saves the day from global warming.
What? What is this? I thought it was going to be a nice innocent Disney type movie with laughter and joy and music and dancing and it is something very different.
My 12 year old was DISGUSTED. My little one watched it innocently and enjoyed it never understanding the underlying message.
This is how they do it. They indoctrinate our kids from the time they are little to receive the message.
I know this sounds bizarre. Even as I am writing it, I know.
But that is why I said....watch the movie even if you don't have little kids...just to see what are kids are up against and why it is so hard to reach them!

PAF, I have seen this kind of propoganda being put into Disney movies ever since the advent of Pocohantas. My oldest daughter, now 24, was about 11/12 when it came out. We really never went to the theaters and waited till movies came out on video.

My daughters best friends (twin sisters) mother told me not to waste my time paying to see it in the theater as it was nothing more than an enviromental and God-less movie touting beng "at one" with nature and having spirit guides and such. We watched it and did find the message was there, only slightly, but still had most of the Disney innocence.

However, they have been slipping down the slippery slope ever since, along with all other companies who produce cartoons.

My best friends daughter and her husband have three little kids and do not allow ANY Disney in their house, though we have been working on them to let the kids at least watch selected movies, like the old classics, Snow White, Cinderella, Bambi.

You have to be really selective, and know when they'd be better off without TV at all at times.

Yeah, I have to agree, the plot sounds like 100% propoganda and does not surprise me.

I got this movie on a rental and did see the same propaganda in it as well, will not buy it for my nephews for this reason. I really thought no need to give the characters nationalities and there was an underlying current in the theme. Shame on Warner Bros. for trying to use the same idea of another hugely popular movie to draw movie goers into to bringing their children to see this
