He also leased 300 acres for 99 years, and acquired 5 indentured servants, allowing him to claim 50 acres per head under the headright system, for an add'l 250 acres. When JOHN CASOR finished his servitude, Johnson sued to keep him for life, and the court agreed. Ergo, the first slave owner was Angolan, Anthony Johnson (black)
