Jones joins house members urging president to better enforce

This came in my email today and I thought I would share it here.

Jones joins house members urging president to better enforce current immigration law

Washington , D.C. - In a letter Friday to President Bush, Third District Representative Walter B. Jones (R-NC) joined Representative John Hostettler (R-IN) and 49 other Members of Congress in calling for better enforcement of current immigration laws before considering any new guestworker program.

Citing their concern over the poor enforcement of current immigration laws and disapproval of the Senate's amnesty bill, Members of Congress sent the following letter to President Bush:

    Dear President Bush:

We write as Members of Congress deeply concerned with illegal immigration. As we travel among our districts and meet with constituents, we are constantly asked questions about immigration and when immigration laws are going to start being enforced. All across the country, immigration enforcement is at the forefront of our constituents' concerns.

We wish to express our disapproval of the immigration bill the Senate recently passed. This bill contains many objectionable provisions, such as amnesty for illegal aliens, the requirement to negotiate with Mexico before securing our border, and a massive expansion of legal immigration, not least of which is a "guestworker" program. The specific reason we write today, however, is to relate to you our conviction that our nation's current immigration laws should be fully and completely enforced before any new guestworker program is considered.

We respect the role you play in the discussion of policy, both foreign and domestic. We request that you urge the agencies under your leadership to begin enforcing all the current immigration laws, and to oversee the implementation of complete enforcement before discussing any legislation that contains new guestworker provisions.

There was a segment on Lou Dobbs tonight about the letter.

The list includes prominent names like Bill Bennett, President Reagan's education secretary, Judge Robert Bork, "National Review" founder William F. Buckley, and former House Speaker Newt Gingrich.

...the requirement to negotiate with Mexico before securing our border, and a massive expansion of legal immigration...
Why in the hell would we want to do that?? Our President is a joke!

Georgie, why are you running to daddy Fox for permission, whatsamatta? Haven't grown up yet? Elitists got your pocket? Can't stand down from your conspiracy unfolding? Doing things behind everyone's back, just like a little kid. Your going against the grain, George and the sad thing is that they, the greedy capitalist globalists have been successful with you. THEY ARE HAVING THEIR WAY WITH YOU, GEORGE.

Bush won't listen. Not even to other respected Republicans.
He already has an agenda as to why he's allowing all these illegals invade our country.

Bush was speaking to the republican party on c-span last night, he said, the american people want the borders secured and they are going to do that, hire more border patrol agents, but he has a plan, make them pay a fine, get in the back of the line, pay back taxes, etc. Did anyone see the senate hearing last night on c-span concerning the senate bill, kyl and cornyn were having a hearing and talking to homeland security about what needs to be done to enforce the laws this time around, they want excess to ss. I didn't get to see much of it, it was late and I had to go to bed. I;m assuming by this that the hearings have begun.
