N.C. county's Republican Party headquarters firebombed; ATF investigating

HILLSBOROUGH, N.C. -- Police in North Carolina are now investigating after a county's Republican party headquarters was fire bombed and vandalized overnight.

Officials report that the Orange County Republican Headquarters was struck with "hate graffiti" and had a flammable material thrown through the front window.

The graffiti included a swastika and the words "Nazi Republicans leave town or else"

"Whether you are Republican, Democrat or Independent, all Americans should be outraged by this hate-filled and violent attack against our democracy," North Carolina Republican Party executive director Dallas Woodhouse said in a social media statement. "Whether the bomb was meant to kill, destroy property or intimidate voters, everyone in this country should be free to express their political viewpoints without fear for their own safety."

The firebomb apparently damaged the building's interior and some furniture before going out.

The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms has been called in to investigate.

“This highly disturbing act goes far beyond vandalizing property; it willfully threatens our community’s safety via fire, and its hateful message undermines decency, respect and integrity in civic participation,” Hillsborough Mayor Tom Stevens said in an online statement. “I believe I speak for the overwhelming majority of people who make Hillsborough their home: Acts like this have no place in our community."

This is so sad, so horrible. This is the fault of Barack Obama, Michelle Obama, Hillary Clinton and sick, mentally ill, biased, dishonest CORRUPT MEDIA that has taken simple straight forward discussions of issues whether it's political bias in our federal court system, crime, drugs and criminals crossing our borders, terrorists entering the United States to kill US, fixing our inner cities to help black Americans, fixing our trade deals to put our citizens back to work at good jobs, and the patriotism of loving our country as something related to Hitler, KKK, racism, xenophobia, etc., etc., etc.

Donald Trump is the man for the job, he is the ONLY PERSON capable of saving our country.

Throw this race-based politicians out of office, kick them all to the curb, shut them down once and for all, and put a real American, a real Republican, Donald Trump, in the White House.

The North Carolina Republican Party put out the following press release in response to an apparent arson attack this weekend at a party office in Hillsborough, NC.

RALEIGH, NC – A North Carolina Republican Party office in Orange County was firebombed overnight, causing major damage and destruction. Thankfully, there was no loss of life.

The explosive device was thrown through the window of the office, and the words, “Nazi Republicans, leave town or else,” were painted on a nearby building. The news comes less than 25 days before Election Day, as dedicated NCGOP volunteers and activists are canvassing the state and spending long hours getting out the vote and exercising their rights in a free and open democratic society.

“Whether you are Republican, Democrat, or Independent, all Americans should be outraged by this hate-filled and violent attack against our democracy,” said Dallas Woodhouse, executive director of the North Carolina Republican Party. “Whether the bomb was meant to kill, destroy property, or intimidate voters, everyone in this country should be free to express their political viewpoints without fear for their own safety. We will be requesting additional security at all Republican Party offices and events between now and Election Day to ensure the safety of our activists, volunteers, and supporters.”

Woodhouse added, “We will not be deterred by this hate crime.”

Vandals spray-paint at least 20 vehicles outside Trump rally in Bangor

North Carolina Governor Pat McCrory slammed the firebombing of a Republican Party campaign office in North Carolina, calling it a direct attack on our democracy.

Late in the evening on Saturday, October 15, the GOP campaign office in Hillsborough was firebombed by unknown vandals. Police said a bottle of some flammable liquid was thrown through the window of the office causing the facilities to go up in flames.

Authorities also said the words “Nazi Republicans get out of town or else” were spray painted on a building nearby.

It was all an act that North Carolina Governor Pat McCrory called “an attack on our democracy,” according to the Charlotte Observer.

“The firebombing of a local political headquarters in Orange County is clearly an attack on our democracy,” McCrory wrote in his statement. “Violence has no place in our society – but especially in our elections … I will use every resource as governor to assist local authorities in this investigation.”

GOP presidential nominee Donald Trump said those who perpetrated the firebombing are no better than “animals” and offered his thanks and wishes for safety to those assaulted.

The director of the North Carolina Republican Party released a public statement insisting, “all Americans should be outraged by this hate-filled and violent attack against our democracy.”

“Whether the bomb was meant to kill, destroy property, or intimidate voters,” Dallas Woodhouse, executive director of the North Carolina Republican Party, continued, “everyone in this country should be free to express their political viewpoints without fear for their own safety.”
