Nancy Pelosi, who has never shied from bragging about Barack Obama, may have outdone herself this time – as she tried to explain why Republicans don’t seem to be able to work well with the president.

“You know why it is. He’s brilliant … he thinks in a strategic way in how to get something done … and he’s completely eloquent. That’s a package that they don’t like.
He has been … open, practically apolitical, certainly nonpartisan, in terms of welcoming every idea and solution. I think that’s one of the reasons the Republicans want to take him down politically – because they know he is a nonpartisan president, and that’s something very hard for them to cope with.”

While it would be easy to accuse Pelosi of lying through her teeth embellishing Obama’s strengths, the scary part is this: she actually appears to believe everything she’s saying.
Even scarier? So does most of the “mainstream” media – not to mention the tens of millions of Obama faithful – who believe with everything they can believe that this president can do no wrong as he does battle with the evil Republicans. Go figure.

There is so much we could say here, but really, there isn't any reason to comment any more, we'll just let Chris Matthews make a complete ass out of himself in his own words with the transcript and video below as he really points the finger at himself in this one:

MATTHEWS: Let me finish tonight with this: Do you ever get the feeling that the loony tunes are taking over? Why would any normal person want to detonate the American economy? Least of all, why would those calling themselves the patriots want to do it?

If they love America, why are they out there bringing it down by having the U.S. government default on its debt? Look, I used to be a newspaper boy, we were encouraged to buy, those days, U.S. savings bonds. It was the good, patriotic thing to do. Besides, it was a guaranteed deal. Those patriotic-looking savings bonds were as good and solid as the U.S. government itself.

It’s that U.S. government the loony tunes are now pushing down, knocking the recovery off its feet with them, leveling our 401ks, killing hopes for a decent retirement. And while they’re at it, they want to carry pistols, rifles, semiautomatics, whatever they can carry, whatever firepower man has created in there when they go in to buy their frappuccinos.

Who are these people who want to cash out of the U.S. government, cash in — cash in as a going institution, meanwhile arming up themselves to be one man/one woman constabularies? Is this the right-wing future? The dream land of the loony tunes? Government that has gone into default, a Main Street they can prowl loaded for bear.

GOP Rep. Gowdy: Nancy Pelosi ‘mind-numbingly stupid,’ recommends doctor visit

Rep. Trey Gowdy (R-SC) lashed out at Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-CA), calling her recent comments regarding Fast and Furious “mind-numbingly stupid,” and suggested she “schedule an appointment” with a doctor.

On Thursday, Pelosi claimed that the contempt vote against Attorney General Eric Holder was part of a grand conspiracy to undermine his fight against voter suppression.
“This is no accident. It is no coincidence. It is a plan on the part of the Republicans,” Pelosi said.
“It’s really beneath the office of a member of Congress to say something that outrageous, and the fact that she was once the speaker is mind-numbing,” Rep. Gowdy told Fox News’ Greta van Susteren.
“I have heard a lot in my 16 years as a prosecutor. I couldn’t believe the words coming out of her mouth,” he added.

“I don’t know what was wrong with her when she said that. But I would schedule an appointment with my doctor if she thinks that we are doing this to suppress votes this fall. That is mind-numbingly stupid,” Gowdy said.
Jim Hoft of the Gateway Pundit reminded readers that “Pelosi also said Democrats brought down the deficit after they increased it by a trillion dollars.”
“She’s either mind-numbingly stupid or a chronic liar, or both,” Hoft wrote.
Gowdy also took the administration to task for invoking executive privilege at the last minute.
”If executive privilege were so sacred, they would have invoked it 10 months ago,” he said. “To wait 10 minutes before we start a markup? They still haven’t told us which documents are privileged.”
On Wednesday, the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee voted along party lines to hold Attorney General Eric Holder in contempt of Congress over documents relating to Fast and Furious.
The whole House is set to vote on the contempt charge sometime next week

Pelosi: Hillary is more prepared for the presidency than Obama, George W. Bush, her own husband

Democratic House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi said Hillary Clinton would “certainly” be more prepared for the presidency in 2016 than Barack Obama was in 2008, stopping short of endorsing her over vice president Joe Biden.

“With all due respect to our president — I think he’s magnificent and wonderful and a blessing to us — but [Hillary Clinton would be] certainly more prepared than President Obama, certainly more prepared than President Bush, certainly more prepared than President [Bill] Clinton,” Pelosi said on CNN’s “State of the Union” on Sunday, after host Candy Crowley asked her about the prospects of a Hillary Clinton presidency.

Pelosi said Biden would be qualified as well, having served as a vice president.

“I’m saying the presidents that we’ve had,” she said. “Joe Biden is very prepared. And I think President [George] Bush, Sr. was prepared. He had been a vice president. But I’m talking about recent memory or presidents that we have had.

You know, Joe Biden would be very prepared as well. But, you asked me about Hillary Clinton.”

She added she was excited about the prospect of a female president.

“I always have a little habit of saying, ‘When you’re serious about running, I’ll be serious about it,’” Pelosi said. “But I think it would be magnificent for America to have a woman president. And by the way, more importantly, very qualified.”
