Napolitano to Trump After DACA Ruling: 'If Judge Gives You a Lemon, Make Lemonade'

    Jan 10, 2018 // 2:34pm

President Donald Trump slammed America’s “broken” and “unfair” court system Wednesday after a federal judge temporarily blocked his administration's efforts to end the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program.

The Obama-era program allows approximately 700,000 people, called DREAMers, who came to the U.S. illegally as minors to be protected from immediate deportation.

“It just shows everyone how broken and unfair our Court System is when the opposing side in a case (such as DACA) always runs to the 9th Circuit and almost always wins before being reversed by higher courts,” Trump tweeted.

On "Outnumbered Overtime," Fox News senior judicial analyst Judge Andrew Napolitano said Trump should not be upset, because this could actually help him achieve his goal of comprehensive immigration reform.
He explained this temporary ruling by a federal judge in San Francisco means DACA will stay in place until the litigation is played out or Congress rewrites the law, whatever happens first.

He said that means DACA won't expire in March, which gives Trump and Congress months to reach a deal on immigration reform.
"If the judge gives you a lemon, Mr. President, make lemonade," Napolitano said, predicting that Congress will eventually craft an immigration deal that includes protections for DREAMers in exchange for policies Trump has pushed for, such as the border wall.
"And it will happen before this California case is resolved by this judge."

    I told you!!

Judge, you right on all points except the "deal". There will be no deal. As soon as Trump shuts up about this eternally DUMB DACA DEAL, Republicans will unite and work our butts off to elect more Republicans to the US Congress in the mid-term elections so we have the real majority we need to kick ass, take names, and fix our country once and for all in ways it can never be undone.

He gave them a fair chance, they decided to rebuke him, humiliate him, embarrass him, compromise our international relationships, jeopardize our national security, and convert the United States from a bona fide sovereign nation state into a unclaimed, undefended, intangible "idea" for the globalists to destroy US and dissolve our country.

Trump isn't going to let that happen. He gave the DemoQuacks and Never-Trumpers just enough rope to hang themselves, and that's what exactly what they did.

I like Napolitano -- but, his lemonade sounds like just more lemons. We need to end DACA once and forever, not craft a deal. Why do we have to make a deal about an illegal abuse of power by Obama? Now with this court ruling the Dreamers/a.k.a. nightmare will probably drag on beyond the March deadline. And we are going to have to fight this battle evern longer.

No deals, no poison lemonade. They all leave without any conditions. Endng the illegal DACA is not negotiable. Ignore the court; it is an illlegal abuse of their power and therefore does not have to obeyed.

There was never any guarantee that DACA was going to end in March because Trump said he would revisit the issue if the U.S. Congress had failed to put an amnesty bill on his desk before that date. Yes, he implied that he would possibly extend the expiration date beyond March. Trump very much wants to sign a DACA amnesty bill and has said as much repeatedly (he's desperate for achievements).

We should never underestimate the possibility that Trump will end up caving in the game of 'chicken' he's currently playing with the Democrats and accept less than he is now asking for.

There's no reason for Trump to do anything at this point. Because of the court ruling, the future of DACA is up to Sessions, the lawsuit and what will ultimately be a US Supreme Court Ruling on the matter.

Wow, you're completely ignoring the fact that Trump could sign a DACA amnesty bill within days or weeks ...... it's totally possible. Your attempt to push this from Trump and the congress onto AG Sessions and the courts in an obvious attempt to offer a distraction for Trump and his favorable position on a DACA amnesty. The judges ruling really is low impact in the big picture and will do nothing to relieve the urgency those in favor of a DACA amnesty feel.

Trump and the Congress have no plans on sitting back and waiting for a court decision. I seriously doubt the judges ruling will have an impact on the future dealings regarding a DACA amnesty deal because I think we'll know what's going to happen before it reaches that level.

The best thing for Trump to do is nothing, walk away from this illegal unconstitutional AMNESTY BLACKMAIL, and let the courts handle it. The House should vote on and pass ALL of their best immigration bills, no DACA or DREAM ACT, none of that, as soon as possible, bills like E-Verify, HR 140, Davis-Oliver Bill, etc., etc., etc., all of them, and any more that they can think of and move quickly to the US Senate. Raise Act in the US Senate needs a good hearing and positive vote out of committee.

Then hit the mid-term campaign trail, blame the DemoQuacks for ALL of our woes and get a true Republican Majority in the US Senate that can pass our bills WITHOUT AMNESTY BLACKMAIL in 2019.

If you believe a Republican Congress is trying to pass an amnesty, then you need to direct your comments on them, right? After all, that is where the problem seems to be, not in the White House.

There's plenty of blame to go around. The White House (Trump) is as guilty as anyone considering his constant talk on how much he supports signing a DACA amnesty bill. We wouldn't be anywhere near this point if Trump wasn't repeatedly pushing and saying he supports a DACA deal.
