Young Cruz listed 'world domination' among goals

Ted Cruz, now a top Republican presidential candidate, is seen in a newly surfaced video remarking as a teenager about taking over the world and being "rich" and "powerful."

"Aspirations — is that like sweat on my butt?" Cruz, then a high school student in Houston in 1988, says while sitting in front of a water fountain, according to the video, which was posted online over the weekend.

"Oh, I see, what I want to do in life. Well my aspiration is to, uh, oh I don't know, be in a teen tit film," a lanky Cruz continues.

"Well, other than that, uh, take over the world — world domination. You know, rule everything, rich, powerful, that sorta stuff," the 18-year-old Cruz adds.

The video, which runs less than a minute, was uploaded to the YouTube account "Young Ted Cruz."

After about 30 seconds of footage of a teenage Cruz, the video cuts to images of the Texas senator's 2016 campaign logo emblazoned over the words "rich," "powerful" and "world domination."

Cruz's campaign acknowledged the video Monday, according to CNN, with campaign communications director Rick Tyler saying, "Good to see that young Ted also had a great sense of humor."

He's a wacko-bird. Sorry, but it's true. There's something not right about him.

Give me a break. He was a pimple faced 18 year old kid. I guess you didn't joke around with your peers when you were 18, huh?

Figures that you would use something as outrageous as this to launch a small scale attack on Cruz. I hope Trump truly appreciates you unwavering loyalty.

I'm sure he does appreciate it. But I'm no different than any other Trump Supporter. We're all-in to win.

No, actually I wouldn't have. It wouldn't be worth the effort because it is meaningless. However, you felt it was worth your effort, so that's fine. I view it about like I do all of these polls that keep popping up about every 4 or 6 hours with very minimal change. I may be the minority here, but in my view they're just forum clutter that move the newsworthy articles off the front page before their time. It would be nice if we had a special forum for candidate polling until the elections were over (IMO).
