U.S. Census: Half Of Nation’s Immigrants Are Not Citizens

U.S. Census Reports That Half Of The Nation’s Immigrants Are Not Citizens

    October 27, 2010
    by Personal Liberty News Desk

The United States Census Bureau reports that 12 percent of the nation's population is foreign-born, and more than half of the immigrants are not citizens.

The census also reveals that 33 percent of the population is native-born with at least one parent from another country, which means that one in five individuals is either a first- or second-generation U.S. resident.

More than half of the immigrants were born in Latin America.

Senate candidate Marco Rubio of Florida is a second-generation U.S. citizen — his parents were born in Cuba. According to Newsweek, the Republican opposes a measure that would legalize undocumented youth if they attend college, and he supports making English the country's official language.

Rubio has garnered strong support from the Latino community despite his stances on immigration.

"It's safe to say that he's going to win the Latino vote by a healthy margin," Dario Moreno, a professor at Florida International University, told the news source.

The news provider reports that two Hispanic gubernatorial candidates, Susana Martinez of New Mexico and Brian Sandoval of Nevada, also have significant backing from Latinos. The two Republicans, like Rubio, support hardline immigration reform.

Don't trust Rubio on this issue, he has vascillated and been wishy-washy depending on audience he's speaking to. I think thats why he's getting strong support from Latino community in Florida, I don't think they believe he's against amnesty either.

I also just checked, and ALIPAC is not endorsing him..... Though maybe he just didn't return the questionnaire, but if not, why not?

AS7, you're in Florida, what do you think about Rubio? I know your other options for Senate aren't so good either. I think I'd vote for Meeks before I'd vote for Crist, who is a classic RINO and CINO, and who's in the middle of an identity crisis.

I know, it looks like Rubio is going to win. Bummer, because I bet if an amnesty bill comes up for a vote, he'll vote for it and just deny its amnesty.

Sorry to hear Florida is on the edge of collapse. I lived there for eight years, left about five years ago. Lived in south Florida, on both coasts. It sometimes seemed it was close to collapse back then! It seemed at times we were all just trying to survive. Chaos at times.

I have been here since early 2001 when i retired from the army.... it has gone down hill fast in the last 3 years... we tried to drive down from Naples across the alley to Miami, then to the keys and man did we go through culture shock... tents all along the keys heading to key west, what appeared to be Illegal Alien squatters fishing and living in tents by the THOUSANDS ... I am guessing they were evicted from forclosures. Toilet paper and crap all along the side of the road ... didnt feel safe at all so we drove back before we hit marithon ... what a mess and the Federal Government is to blame for it all

That is sad to hear about the Keys area. Really sounds like some third world country. Scary that its gotten even worse in just the past three years. No longer any semblance to that once tropical paradise. Heaven help us! Because eventually it will probably be like that everywhere.

I lived in Naples also the last two years I was there, worked in Ft. Myers. I drove Alligator Alley many times, because I moved to Naples from West Palm Beach, so drove back and forth many times.

When is enough enough? Anyone in our government ever ask that question( I know...you're a "racist and nativist" if you dare ask that question), or are they just too busy devising schemes and subverting existing law in order to get even more here.

Tancredo was right then. Miami and other parts of Florida do resemble a third world country. Of course you will hear much denial of this by the lefty ethnocentrics.
