Thread: New Cruz ad features father of man shot by illegal immigrant in Arizona

A new ad for Republican presidential candidate Ted Cruz focuses on the story of a father whose son was reportedly killed last year by an illegal immigrant.

The 30-second ad, titled "Grant," will air in Arizona, CNN reported.

The ad starts off showing childhood photos Steve Ronnebeck's son.

"My son, Grant, was killed working an overnight shift at his job by an illegal immigrant," Ronnebeck says in the ad. "He was out on a nice bond. He should have been deported."

Ronnebeck said his son's death was "completely preventable."

He said he trusts Cruz because the Texas senator believes in our "Constitution" and the "rule of law."

"It's time we put somebody in office who puts the American people first," he said.

Ronnebeck's son was reportedly shot by an illegal immigrant in 2015 while he was working an overnight shift at a convenience store in Mesa, Ariz., The Arizona Republic reported. A man handed Grant Ronnebeck change and asked for a pack of cigarettes. The man then shot him after he attempted to count the money.

The ad is part of a six-figure buy by Cruz in both Arizona and Utah, according to CNN.

According to the RealClearPolitics average of polls in Arizona, Republican presidential front-runner Donald Trump leads by 13 points over Cruz, 34 percent to 21 percent.

Both states will hold their Republican presidential primaries on Tuesday.

Paleeze - copycat Trump - anything to get your turncoat globalist butt into a higher office than you somehow achieved so far!

Oh sure, he'll tear up the Executive Orders, but he won't do anything about removing illegal aliens from the country. He's already said he won't deport 11 million illegal aliens so we know he won't deport the 30 million that we believe are here. Until you deport them all, they will all still be here doing what they do to Americans and the United States.

Trump is the only one who said he will build the wall and deport all illegal aliens within 2 years. How anyone could or would consider any other candidate for President of the United States is beyond me, let alone someone who lost a family member to an illegal alien.

The Constitution defends your rights,but it doesn't defend you or your family from illegal aliens. Fellow Americans working in federal and state and local law enforcement do that and we need a President who cuts them all loose to do their jobs, which is what Donald Trump wants to do and will do.

Anyway, food for thought.

If the GOP backs Ted he will do as he is told and nothing, absolutely NOTHING will change.

It will be the end of our country. Our country is hanging by a thread and Trump is the only one who can turn things around fast and hard enough to save us. You know Trump is the answer because the media is going crazy against him. They're attacking a North Carolina Trump Supporter and campaign volunteer because of her tattoos which she says are family Celtic symbols but the media and Anti-Defamation League claim they're Neo-Nazis. The family supports Trump because of his stand for Veterans and they have 2 Veterans in her family including her husband as well as his strong stances against illegal immigration. And they're Democrats turned Republican to support Donald Trump.

Is this how we treat Veterans families in the United States now? Is this how we treat American citizens and voters?

Our media and these 501 C 3 outfits like ADL are part of the huge problem in our country. They're reptiles using the phony race card to attack anyone and everyone who wants to stop illegal immigration and fix our horrendous trade deals. They'll even stoop so low as to attack a Veteran Family in Fayetteville, North Carolina and try to label them Nazis because they volunteered to make phone calls for Donald Trump, Democrats turned Republican, to support and help elect Donald Trump because of his stance in support of veterans and against illegal immigration.

In my opinion, these groups should not have tax exempt status. I wonder if a Trump presidency would force the IRS to review the status of these groups and make them pay back taxes... The average American worker is strapped with carrying the freight of the country while groups like these run millions through their organizations and spend it to subvert our laws through illegal advocacy.
I wonder if the paid protesters are paid by check or cash? Do they report their income? etc...

Very good questions, Newmexican, and I totally agree with you about their tax exempt status being pulled. One of the reasons I am such an advocate of the FairTax is it eliminates the income tax which for all practical purposes shuts these phony tax fraud "charities" down. They can still operate but with regard to taxes, they are treated the same as any business.

When asked about Trump’s mass deportation strategy, Cruz agreed unequivocally. “Listen, we should enforce the law. How do we enforce the law? Yes, we should deport them,” he said. “We should build a wall, we should triple the Border Patrol, and federal law requires that anyone here illegally that’s apprehended should be deported.”
O’Reilly then asked Cruz if he agreed with Trump that the federal government should actively search for people who are in the country illegally. “Bill, of course you would. That’s what ICE [Immigration and Customs Enforcement] exists for. We have law enforcement that looks for people who are violating the law, apprehends them and deports them.”
