NEWS FLASH!!! Lobbyists are writing AMNESTY legislation!!

Where in the hell in the U.S. Constitution does it give UNELECTED groups the right to write American legislation. They were not elected and do not REPRESENT THE VOTERS.

This is the reason why Americans can't view the TEXT of the Senate's COMPREHENSIVE IMMIGRATION REFORM legislation that is sitting in the Judiciary.........

According to Lou Dobbs, the Chamber of Commerce & Lobbyists are writing it as it sits in committee!!

The AMNESTY legislation was sent to the Senate committee UNWRITTEN!! NO details and assigned to committee!!

This is a good reason why you shouldn't have career politicians like Kennedy.

Don't you realize that we have been living under the Kennedy Immigration Reform since the 60's. What in the hell has he done for us.

We don't want to do it the Kennedy Amnesty way again! It's been bad for us so far and it will be even worse this time.

I thought I heard that some Democratic Senators were peeved they were not invited to the table to write the legislation. Some have reservations against backing anything they write now.

I think it was reported on Lou Dobbs.

Interestingly, when I called Hutchison's office about the bill, her staffer at first pretended not to know what bill I was talking about. After I explained specifically what I was talking about, the staffer changed her tune and asked if I wanted to inform the Senator that I was against it. I told her that I presumed that I would be against the bill, given its sponsors and their past efforts, but that I was sure as Hell against the process by which it was being formulated.

Cornyn's office seemed a bit more direct. I get the idea that Sen. Cornyn has been put off by the methodology employed by Kennedy and his minions, but I'll let you know more if his staffer in charge of immigration calls me back as promised.

    This is fabulous, Crocket!

They actually believe that we don't understand the PROCESS that is now taking place under our noses.

    THANK YOU

ps: Cornyn's upset because he's left out of the proverbial loop. However, he was front and center carrying bush's water to the trough with the last AMNESTY fiasco.

How can you co-sponsor a bill that has no text? Democrats?

    Harry Reed Sponsor

    Cosponsors
Sen Boxer, Barbara [CA] - 1/4/2007
Sen Cantwell, Maria [WA] - 1/4/2007
    Sen Leahy, Patrick J. [VT] - 1/4/2007
    Sen Schumer, Charles E. [NY] - 1/4/2007
Sen Stabenow, Debbie [MI] - 1/4/2007

To me, that's just throwing all common sense to the wind. Sign me a blank check.

Its sounds as if it is a committee for committees or writings to produce more writings. All my local reps from the chamber and the house, / senate have people answering the phone that has no idea what it says or when it will be. I wave my right to leave a message and would hold but no bodies in the offices today. All the offices I called
come on I cant even believe this
and to reform and rationalize avenues to make beter??? Good changes Good changes

sis: While this is only part of what you refer to, my guess is it is likely a big part of 'reforming' the legal avenues for immigrants....<yadda>, <yadda>,
    etc.

    Points to keep in mind:

Maria Cantwell-D (WA) was a co-Sponsor and represents big IT companies as in, you know who, that rich guy up in the Seattle area (and a few others to be fair). She has always been quick to lobby for whatever the ga-zillionaires say they need (and she used to work as an executive/CEO for a tech company in Seattle herself).

Second, I don't know if many recall this, but during the big Senate negotiations last year televised on C-Span, she had introduced a key amendment to S2611 (the number escapes me at the moment, but I might be able to chase it down...given a few minutes) which drastically raised the levels of H1Bs and other work-related visas for entry in the US.

Bottom line: watch her for introducing or sponsoring of amendments/language which increase legal workers in large quantities.

Oh yeah, I don't trust the other Democrats on the Senate Judiciary Committee... at all.

The one bright spot is that our buddy Sen. Jeff Sessions-R (AL) is also on the SJC and maybe he will be able to impart some common sense and reality to the otherwise clueless bunch of organized criminals.

    Just my 0.02 cents...
