Rubio on Trump’s Muslim Ban, Mass Deportations: ‘That’s Not Going To Happen’

    by PAM KEY26 Jun 2016

Sunday on CBS’s “Face the Nation,” former presidential candidate Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL) said presumptive Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump’s proposals of a temporary ban on Muslims entering the United States or mass deportation of undocumented immigrants living and working in America are not going to happen.

On mass deportation Rubio said, “Well, I’ve said this before. Donald’s argument is that he’s going to create this program, and the reality of it is he can’t do it. You can’t round up and deport 11 million people. There are people that need to be deported. Criminals need to be deported. But you can’t round up and deport 11, 10, 9 million people. The American people wouldn’t stand for it once they saw what it would take to make that happen. And what’s why I argue for piecemeal step-by-step approach which begins with enforcement and I think leads to the confidence we need from the American people to do something reasonable but responsible about people facing these circumstances.”

He added, “I think there are people that need to be deported, criminals, people that are dangerous, quite frankly, people that haven’t been here that long. there have to be cut off points. I don’t think that’s what’s going to happen no matter what he says on the campaign.”

On the ban on Muslims Rubio added, “Temporary ban on Muslim immigration. That’s not going to happen. We talk about ISIS and the need to defend ISIS and one of our great partners in defeating ISIS is Kurds and Kurdistan. Who I visited a few weeks ago. They’re Muslims. You go and see some of our troops around the world who are on the front line work alongside these communities to defeat ISIS. They’re Muslim pumps see our best allies in Jordan. Our allies in that reach than are working to us to defeat ISIS. They’re Muslims. You look at communities in America who are reporting to the FBI, we’ve got a radical here in our midst. They’re Muslims. So it’s just — that’s not a real proposal. It’s not something that’s going to happen.”

"You look at communities in America who are reporting to the FBI, we’ve got a radical here in our midst. They’re Muslims."

It only takes one or two to cause massive damage, though. Orlando, San Bernardino, Boston. And I think what Trump has advocated is only a suspension of immigration.

Why do they want to be in the US and Europe? Do we owe them something?

    NO AMNESTY

Don't reward the criminal actions of millions of illegal aliens by giving them citizenship.

Why do they want to be in the US and Europe?

To conquer all nations, spread islam to every continent and be the dominators; therefore their violence, demands, rapes of women/girls/boys, beating up & stealing from seniors - that is their history thru time also. And citizens pay for them to live/breed too.
    Do we owe them something?
American & EU citizens don't owe them anything BUT what did the gov't leaders take from the saudis to allow this to happen?

Purely conjecture on Rubio's part. Rubio knows and aknowledges the dangerous ones here now and still does nothing about it. Tell me why someone like him is running for another term?

Unfortunately it is because the GOP convinced him to do so. They think Rubio is their best chance of keeping the senate seat in the Republican column.

Try to remember that Rubio himself is the child of parents who were both illegal immigrants.

Obviously you can't round up and deport millions of people all at once. But all that is necessary is to target that population as illegal immigrants. It is not necessary to round them up. All that is necessary is to isolate them legally. And anyone sincere about enforcing our immigration laws cannot disagree with that, "And that’s why I argue for piecemeal step-by-step approach which begins with enforcement ... " As long as "the American people" agree with law enforcement, nobody will object. Confronting illegal immigrants as a matter of law enforcement has not been done and this is the source of the problem

As soon as Rubio admits, in public, that the problem is that the laws are not being enforced and have not been enforced, he will have an iota of credibility on the issue. But he is not ever going to do that.

So now the Kurds are the "moderate Muslims" of popular myth. Two things here, first the Taliban were the "good guys" once in our idle confrontation with the USSR in Afghanistan. Our support there of Muslims against the USSR is what put Al Qaeda on the geopolitical map. Second of all, how many Kurds do we have immigrating to the US? Most Kurds are fighting for the land they claim and are not refugees. There is also the fact of history, that until the extermination of the Armenians by the Turks, and their Kurdish allies, the land they claim was Armenian -- Christian territory.
