Subject: TnRIP News - Bills signed by Governor Bredesen

On Monday, May 7, the Tennessee Senate passed the bill (SB-1968 - companion House Bill, HB-1827) officially ending the Driving Certificate program and returning our Driver's License program to one that only licenses LEGAL residents of Tennessee.


On May 21, 2007, the above bills were signed into law by Governor Phil Bredesen and assigned Public Chapter No. 194 . The practice of rewarding illegal aliens with state issued IDs and driving privileges has now officially ended here in Tennessee!!!

Also of note is that on May 15, 2007, Governor Bredesen signed into law HB0491/SB1604 which authorized the Tennessee Highway Patrol to enter into a memorandum of understanding with the Department of Homeland Security to allow training of THP officers in immigration law. This law has been assigned Public Chapter No. 165.

Although we don't expect the THP to be entering into a 287(g) memorandum any time soon because Commissioner David Mitchell (who opposes English only driver testing) says they don't have the equipment, it is our hope that the funds will be made available for the necessary upgrades and that public pressure will convince Mr. Mitchell to take the steps to seek federal approval just as Davidson County Sheriff, Daron Hall, has done with so much recent success.

Now that is good news. I hope to goodness Illinois doesn't vote in our HB1100 -to give illegal aliens driving certificates. Let them learn a lesson...

Lest we forget too soon the Tennessee Attorney General says hold your horses on that THP enforcement. It is a federal issue type pass the buck statement. He is also questioning the other bills recently passed to curb the massive and continuing daily influx/invasion/assault of all Tennessee cities and towns.

Way to go Tennessee, thats a start every possitive step is a step toward getting our country back.
The states are key because in the end thats where the laws are going to have to be enforced, this is to big now for our government to do alone, besides we don't trust them to do it now do we.

This is indeed very good news.FedUp ITA. It's puzzles me why the media and Boosh continue to preach about the abundant gas consumption but never mention the fact that illegals are allowed to drive and are thus responsible for contribution to the surge in consumption.

Yeah, I didn't realize our state was working on this!!! I have been so tied up with illegal criminals, I didn't notice!!! YAAAHHH!!!!!

Too bad Governer Purdue couldn't have added himself to this prestigeous list of patriots fighting back against this invasion. Instead, he chose to sell out the citizens of Georgia by vetoing after the Georiga Senate and Houes approved it.

I am not a resident of the good state of Tennessee but I am going to write and thank the governor. His actions will help guard the safety of the citizens of TN and he is setting an example that I hope other states will follow.
