A North Carolina high school student has been suspended for using the phrase 'illegal alien' in class.

Christian McGhee, 16, was suspended for three days from Central Davidson High School, after using the term during a classroom discussion about word meanings.
Christian questioned the term 'alien' in an assignment, asking if it referred to 'space aliens or illegal aliens without green cards,' as reported by the Carolina Journal.

His comment reportedly offended another student who physically threatened McGhee, leading to the involvement of school authorities.

'I didn't make a statement directed towards anyone — I asked a question,' Christian told the Carolina Journal.

'I wasn't speaking of Hispanics because everyone from other countries needs green cards, and the term 'illegal alien' is an actual term that I hear on the news and can find in the dictionary,' he added.
His suspension could impact his chance of securing an athletic scholarship for college as he played on his school's track and cross country teams.
His mother, Leah McGhee, said that despite their efforts, the assistant principal has been unwilling to remove the infraction from Christian's record.
'Because of his question, our son was disciplined and given THREE days OUT of school suspension for 'racism,' wrote Christian's mother in the email, reported by the Carolina Journal.

'Christian is devastated and concerned that the racism label on his school record will harm his future goal of receiving a track scholarship. We are concerned that he will fall behind in his classes due to being absent for three consecutive days.'
State Senator Steve Jarvis, representing Davidson County, has reached out to the school district's superintendent, urging officials to look for the best outcome.
However, Jarvis refrained from taking a stance on the issue, and explained that he needed to understand all perspectives involved.
'I do not see that that would be an offensive statement, just in getting clarification,' he said. 'But there again, I don't know. I don't know the situation of this particular incident.'

I have taken some time to text, call, and email several influential people and lawmakers in my home state of North Carolina about this case. I hope they will step up and help Christian McGhee. Here is my email to the NC State Senator for this area....

    Senator Steve Jarvis
    Steve.Jarvis@ncleg.gov

    Senator Jarvis,

Thank you for your comments in the Daily Mail article regarding the unfair suspension of young Christian McGhee in your district.

As a North Carolinian, expert on immigration issues, prior member of the NC Senate Sgt At Arms staff & Legislative Assistant, and a parent, I am appalled that public school employees in your district allowed this young man to be threatened with violence, expelled, and defamed because he asked a legitimate question using the official terminology used in the US law codes "illegal alien."

Only in recent years has this term been deemed or declared offensive and racist by far left Soros backed groups out to harm and intimidate anyone who refuses to use the language they decree! Under their thought-crime rules, we are not allowed to acknowldge illegally immigrating into America is a crime that earns someone the accurate label of "illegal alien". It's even used in a famous Phil Collins song!

People all across North Carolina and the country are reading in dismay about how this bright young man's current education, reputation, and future prospects in education and employment are being harmed because he dared utter a phrase deemed inappropriate by socialists and supporters of open-borders and illegal immigration. The question is not if Christian was rude or offensive to someone, the question is how did rabid far leftist illegal immigrant supporters end up in a position of authority over our children and students?

I don't think this school system and the administrators responsible realize how badly they have stepped in it and I estimate the public backlash and opposition to the suspension of Christian McGhee for asking a question in class to exceed 80%.

This is based on my twenty years working on immigration issues nationally and in North Carolina and my numerous prior successful efforts stopping license and in-state tuition bills for illegal aliens in the NC General Assembly.

I hope that you and other lawmakers will take immediate and fervent steps to mitigate this attack on this young man and to terminate the employment of any taxpayer funded worker who abused this young man because he is a young white male. It appears anti-white racism is in full force in the Davidson County school system.

Asking a legitimate question in class using terminology deemed appropriate by the United States Congress is not a crime, but threatening someone with violence, being in the country illegally, and lying about someone's character in a way that causes them harm and distress are crimes.

The student that threatened Christian should be expelled, the administrator that expelled Christian should be put on administrative leave and fired, and Mr. McGhee's good name should be restored by the legislature with an act to discourage rabid Democrats in schools from doing anything like this in the future.

Thank you for your consideration and efforts,
