NumbersUSA: Huckabee 1st Candidate to Sign No-Amnesty Pledge

    http://www.numbersusa.com/index

Huckabee Becomes 1st Presidential Candidate to Sign ''No-Amnesty'' Pledge

(January 16) On Wednesday afternoon, Governor Mike Huckabee became the first presidential candidate to sign Americans for Better Immigration's (ABI) "No-Amnesty" pledge. Joined by ABI's President Roy Beck in South Carolina, Huckabee promised, if elected, he would fully implement enforcement measures that, over time, will lead to the attrition of our illegal immigrant population. Well, take it for what it's worth folks. Believe or disbelieve as you see fit.

At the same time, the fact that he signed is a good thing. He either: has finally 'seen the light' (yeah, yeah, I know..), OR pressure from groups like ours has forced him (and his handlers) to a position where he feels compelled to strongly PROVE his stance on the issue. Summary: they - all the candidates in the Repub side anyway - are being driven to take a strong anti-amnesty position. (All the above is IMHO, of course)....

Lou just brought up Huckabee's Amnesty pledge, but Lou failed to mention Huckabee didn't think Bush's bill was Amnesty', so it's a worthless pledge. Pundits are also saying Huckabee will probably win SC. I just sent Lou an email.

    We all need too.

Sorry, a dude that lies about having a theology degree is not going to get my trust on an anti amnesty pledge.

Earlier today, Tancredo when interview said "He believed both McCain and Huckabee would grant Amnesty. Lou should probably know that too.

Another double-take moment when I saw the big NUMBERUSA logo and then Mike Huckabee signing the NO AMNESTY Pledge. He has not, I repeat has not renounced the plan to allow illegal alien young people a pathway to citizenship, which in turn keeps the families here too. This is nuts.

Why has Roy Beck not confronted this issue with Mr. Huckabee? All of those Senators who voted for the failed Senate Bill said that the bill was not amnesty.

But Jesus beheld them, and said unto them, With men this is impossible; but with God all things are possible.

It depends on what his definition of amnesty is. It could be like McCain's.

Huckabee's "no amnesty" will be like Guliani and McCain's "No amnesty".

Hi GP, yes, good question. I noticed from Numbers' site, that Roy has not published or released his summary comments about the event today.

One nice side effect of all this: there is more pressure on the others to follow suit... and that... is a good thing.
