NYC Mayor De Blasio To Offer ‘Identity Papers’ To Illegal Aliens Living In City’s ‘Shadows’

Bill de Blasio, New York City’s new progressive mayor, announced a plan today intended to make the city’s estimated half-million illegal aliens feel a bit more…permanent.
De Blasio announced an initiative that would give illegal aliens city-issued “identity papers” to assure them an easier time of obtaining housing, utilities and access to banking services, Agence France-Presse reported. The plan is concomitant with one of his key campaign promises: issuing municipal ID cards to help illegals gain access to public assistance, as well as services such checking out public library books and filing police reports.
“To all of my fellow New Yorkers who are undocumented, I say: New York City is your home too, and we will not force any of our residents to live their lives in the shadows,” said de Blasio during Monday’s speech at Queens College. “We will protect the almost half-million undocumented New Yorkers whose voices too often go unheard.”
De Blasio also supports opening access to drivers’ licenses to illegal aliens, and expand upon a pilot program that uses public schools as a vehicle to deliver services to adult illegal aliens.
