NYT Trumpets! US Catholic Bishops Choose Hispanic Immigrant Leader

The New York Times treats us to an unnecessarily lengthy piece about the internal political machinations inside the US Catholic Church.

Archbishop Gomez the NYT says, “…created wallet-size cards for undocumented immigrants with instructions for what to do if they are approached by immigration officers.” Did they pay for those on the taxpayers’ dime?It seems there is a major split—do they put the immigration issue above or below their anti-abortion stance? Some do, some don’t.


Do I care about their internal politics as they try to figure out how political they have been and how political they will be going forward?


No!


The only thing that troubles me about their latest political soul-searching and their choice of a Hispanic head honcho for the US Bishops is one thing!


We taxpayers are paying for their religious ‘good works.’


We pay so they can beat their chests and tell the world they care about the poor and the downtrodden (as long as those poor people are immigrants to this cold-hearted Trump-America).

Not one single word about the $ Millions the Bishops suck out of the US Treasury every year!

Does the NYT even know about it, or is the venerable paper keeping that information from you?


In any case, no mention, so therefore no questions about how that money dictates their position on government policy.


And, no questions about whether we should be paying for their upkeep.


One last thing: The NYT says that fewer Hispanics are now Catholics, hmmm!

Churches need to lose their tax-exempt status.


They are nothing but big BUSINESS money making machines and too political.

These churches should be helping citizens in OUR country.

Stop funding them!

We defunded Planned Parenthood...defund the Church!

They have NO right to our taxpayer dollars!!!

Why should I fund these Churches? I do not agree with their policies, many people do not go to Church, and we should not be forced to pay for their "agenda" against this country and the American people.


"Freedom of Religion"...

NOT freedom to take MY tax money and fund them!

Yes, they should be losing their 501c3 status. It would take Deep State cooperation though. I have learned the hard way, too, that the federal bureaucracy is full of partisan operatives who will listen to one side and not the other. Unfortunately the right wing populist movement is still insufficiently organized. Take Ann Coulter for example---she can still appear on cable news and talk shows and sell her books. She, instead, should march right up to the White House and volunteer her legal knowledge to making our programs working. Not just be a gadfly on the outside. There are few people who could do that but Ann Coulter could.

The 501c3 status can be revoked but not for only a few issues. It has to be seen as little more than a Partisan front organization. I think the liberal protestant churches are that. There is a local Episcopal church here ( my sister is a member) that is teaching "resistance tactics" to kids. Now that should be revioked but probably wouldn't be.

They had to get a new supply of people willing to leave their children in the care of Catholic Priests. Illegal immigration is their solution to replace people in the pews where the Americans left to avoid all the pedofiles and the systematic protection and concealment of their crimes within the church.

The Church exploits the poor, the uneducated, encourages overbreeding, and living a life of poverty and despair having LARGE families you cannot afford to feed and take proper care of. It is inhumane to fill people's heads with this nonsense and totally irresponsible.

They want more breeding, more for their flock, and more money from anywhere they can get it. It is a JOB, and that is how they get funding.

They are MEN, no better, no worse than you or I. They are not God. Use your common sense.

They turn their backs on the child molestation and rape of women by their Priests that has been going on for Centuries.

DEFUND THESE CHURCHES!!! TAXPAYERS SHOULD NOT FUND THIS BUSINESS! AND THEY NEED TO PAY UP TAXES JUST LIKE EVERY BUSINESS IN THIS COUNTRY SHOULD.

THEY SHOULD BE PREACHING QUALITY OF LIFE, PERSONAL RESPONSIBILITY, WORK HARD, OBEY THE LAWS OF THE LAND, AND DO NOT BE A BURDEN TO OTHERS!

They have lost their way, and the are directly responsible for a lot of the wars, fighting, poverty, overbreeding, and strife on the planet for centuries.

The RC Church is losing its grasp on the world. Another Swamp which oughta be drained!
