WHOA! RINO John Boehner Calls Ted Cruz A ‘Jackass!’

    WRITTEN BY:

    AUGUST 27, 2015

RINO Speaker of the House John Boehner, whose favorability ratings really can’t get much more abysmal, called Republican presidential candidate Ted Cruz, a principled constitutional conservative, a “jackass” at a fundraiser Wednesday evening.

Boehner, a supposed Republican who has been running hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of ads against principled conservatives like Jim Jordan (OH), Tim Huelskamp (KS) and Jim Bridenstine (OK) through his “American Action Network” front group, told attendees at a fundraiser for GOP Rep. Scott Tipton that he’s happy that Ted Cruz’s presidential campaign is keeping “that jackass” out of Washington, and from telling Boehner how to do his job, The Daily Caller reports.

The DC reported that the remark raised some major eyebrows and did not sit well with some in attendance.

“I don’t think it’s terribly speaker-like, and I think it kind of goes against everything that Reagan ever said about disparaging Republicans,” said Ed MacArthur, the president of Native Excavating, who attended the fundraiser.

“It’s becoming very disturbing to me that we can’t have good, polite conversation,” MacArthur said. “It all has to be at the throat.”
RINO Boehner is likely butt-hurt over Ted Cruz’s staunch opposition to what Cruz refers to as the bipartisan “Washington Cartel,” that fattens the pockets of lobbyists and special interests groups at the expense of hard-working Americans.

“Washington is looking for solutions for Washington — not solutions that empower citizens across the nation to succeed,” Cruz recently told The Heritage Foundation. “Instead Washington solutions invariably help the rich and well-connected,” Cruz explained.

Another attendee at the fundraiser where Boehner made his uncivil remark told The DC that they were shocked that Boehner just called a fellow Republican a “jackass.”

“I about fell on the floor. To build coalitions to work together in Washington, D.C., you don’t start it out by calling your colleague a ‘jackass,'” she said.

Boehner’s attack on Cruz will likely help Cruz’s presidential campaign and his well-earned reputation as being a fighter against the establishment in both parties.

Upon taking the helm as speaker, John Boehner promised a more civil discourse. Apparently, calling a colleague who stands for the Constitution a “jackass” fits into that promise somehow.

Speaker of the House John Boehner stunned audience members Wednesday evening at a Colorado fundraiser by referring to Republican presidential candidate Ted Cruz as a “jackass,” two people in attendance tell The Daily Caller.

At a Steamboat Springs event for GOP Rep. Scott Tipton, the Ohio Republican quipped that he likes how Cruz’s presidential campaign keeps “that jackass” out of Washington, and from telling Boehner how to do his job.

That remark rubbed some attendees the wrong way.

But MacArthur added: “I do believe he’s got the right to say it.”

Another Steamboat Springs resident confirmed Boehner’s remark: “I about fell on the floor.”

“To build coalitions to work together in Washington, D.C., you don’t start it out by calling your colleague a ‘jackass,'” she said.

The fundraiser took place at a tavern-styled venue called the Ghost Ranch. About 100 or more people were there. Boehner and Tipton addressed the crowd while standing in front of a stage.

It’s no surprise that Boehner and Cruz have a rocky relationship. The Texas senator and the speaker have clashed over tactics and policy. And Cruz, on the campaign trail, often criticizes the Republican Washington establishment.

For Cruz, the attack could be helpful: Boehner is not beloved by the conservative grassroots activists the Texas senator is courting. And it could further endear Cruz to voters who find Donald Trump’s anti-Washington message appealing.

The Daily Caller has reached out to Boehner, Cruz and Tipton’s press offices for comment.

Wow, and they want Trump to pledge or sign some oath that he won't run a third party campaign if he feels that's the way to go? I think these people like Boehner who have largely failed US need to get a grip and calm down.

Trump's right, we need more money spent on mental health issues.

Is Ted Cruz more popular than Boehner in Ohio? At least in Boehner's district? Does Winteregg covet the endorsement/

Cruz Is Not Interested In Engaging With Boehner’s ‘Profanity-Laden Assault’ [VIDEO]
    STEVE GUEST
    Media Reporter

Ted Cruz responded to John Boehner calling him a “jackass” Monday, saying it was a “profanity-laden assault” and that he would not engage in that sort of thing.

Cruz, appearing on the Hugh Hewitt Show, said, “The speaker is entitled to express whatever views he likes, but I’m not going to respond in kind.”
Hugh Hewitt: Well, I don’t understand it, and I’d like to expand and not limit it to the speaker. But what in the world is the upside of any Republican slagging another Republican, especially when the other Republican is running for president and might be our nominee?

Ted Cruz: Well, look, unfortunately, I think an awful lot of folks in politics, they get personal and they engage in insults and ad hominem attacks. And there’s far too much of that that goes on. And my approach consistently is that I don’t reciprocate. The speaker is entitled to express whatever views he likes, but I’m not going to respond in kind. And I think the American people are not remotely interested in a bunch of politicians in Washington bickering like schoolyard children. I think what they’re looking for is serious leaders who will address and provide real solutions to the very real problems we’re facing right now.

Hewitt: Now when I was defending you to some friends this weekend, I was out climbing a fourteener in Colorado, and I was saying, ‘Ted Cruz did not deserve this,’ and they said ‘Well, he attacked McConnell pretty badly,’ and I said ‘Read what he said. It wasn’t a personal attack.’ Am I correct in making that distinction?

Cruz: That is exactly right. There is a difference between describing the facts and describing someone’s actions, and what occurred, and engaging in a personal attack. I gave, a couple of months ago, an unusual floor speech to be sure. But I stood up and I said ‘Here are the commitments that the majority leader gave to me, personally, to every Republican senator, and to the American people. And his conduct today is directly contrary to those commitments that he made,’ and that is quite different from engaging in the kind of personal attack and insults and profanity-laden assault that so many others engage in.
