You could tell that White House Press Secretary Josh Earnest was having a rough day when Fox News’s Ed Henry asked Earnest about President Obama’s promise to enact comprehensive immigration reform by the end of 2009, when the Democrats held control of both houses of Congress.
After Earnest’s two-step routine, Henry followed up and Earnest still stumbled through blaming “crises” and Republicans. As our own Mike Miller states, “Awesome. Good to know that the crises facing the regime have subsided. You know, like Putin, Ukraine, Israel & Hamas, Iraq, Syria, Iran, etc.”
Here’s the video from Buzzfeed of Barack Obama while running for president in 2008 promising comprehensive immigration reform by the end of the first year or his first term:

It appears that a new crisis has emerged that has caused the Obama administration to champion immigration reform: The fact that Democrats don’t have much of a record to run on and they’re risking defeat in this year’s midterms.
