Obama Logic – Judge Rules Border Fence May Discriminate Against Minorities

Things haven’t gotten to the point yet that Americans are flooding our southern border in an attempt to flee the repression at home, so for now, the traffic is all incoming.
Our southern border is a gateway to Latin America, not Africa, China or Europe. Therefore, we will have largely Hispanic border crashers. Geography doesn’t discriminate, it’s just a reality.
The latest effort to find any kernel of legitimacy upon which to base an argument against defending America from the invasion has just been given a boost by a Federal District Court Judge.
Judge Beryl Howell, an Obama appointee, has ruled that a fence along the U.S.-Mexico border could possibly discriminate against local border residents. She put it as having a “disparate impact on lower-income minority communities.” In her ruling she instructed DHS to supply contact information of local local farmers to the plaintiff, Denise Gilman.
Denise Gilman is a clinical professor at the University of Texas-Austin. She has taken it upon herself to conduct research into the “human rights impact” that erecting a fence would have. A fence would certainly have a negative impact on the “human rights” of terrorists, drug smugglers and illegal aliens.
A 2006 federal law has ordered the building of 700 miles of fence along America’s southern border. That law has to this point been largely ignored.
As part of her activism disguised as a research project, Gilman claims she needs to question the landowners in the planned construction areas, to gain insight into the impact the fencing will have on them.
Gilman sued to get the data, which the feds had refused to turn over. In most communities the land ownership information is a public record so it is curious that this is a point of contention at all.
The point should be moot, Gilman’s research project and the local identities are irrelevant. The federal government is and has been destroying farmers throughout California in the name of protecting a bait fish, the delta smelt.
Now a Judge has the nerve to entertain the premise that our border should be wide open for the sake of border farmers, when the situation fits their agenda. Many of the farmers affected in California are Hispanic also, as are many of the workers.
The issue of protecting and securing our borders is unrelated to the identity of those who would seek to violate them. Aside from terrorists, an illegal alien is an illegal alien, period. It also should not matter who the farmers are that hold land upon which the fence would be built or the impact on their property.
Imminent domain was created, not as an abusive tool through which to increase a local tax base, but for situations such as this.
In the interest of fairness, expand the fence project to cover the entire 2,000 mile southern border. Construction could begin immediately with the 700 miles already approved and Congress could approve funding to complete the other 1,300 miles in the near future. Then everything along the fence route will be equal, regardless of income level or ethnic group.
Equality is after all, the objective of the socialists in control, so they should be quite satisfied with this resolution. Then again, the result would be a border fence and border security. They can’t have that.
