The White House has identified 19 executive actions for President Barack Obama to move unilaterally on gun control, Vice President Joe Biden told a group of House Democrats on Monday, the administration’s first definitive statements about its response to last month’s mass shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School.
Later this week, Obama will formally announce his proposals to reduce gun violence, which are expected to include renewal of the assault weapons ban, universal background checks and prohibition of high-capacity magazine clips. But Biden, who has been leading Obama’s task force on the response, spent two hours briefing a small group of sympathetic House Democrats on the road ahead in the latest White House outreach to invested groups.

The White House has identified 19 executive actions for President Barack Obama to move unilaterally on gun control, Vice President Joe Biden told a group of House Democrats on Monday, the administration’s first definitive statements about its response to last month’s mass shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School.

Later this week, Obama will formally announce his proposals to reduce gun violence, which are expected to include renewal of the assault weapons ban, universal background checks and prohibition of high-capacity magazine clips. But Biden, who has been leading Obama’s task force on the response, spent two hours briefing a small group of sympathetic House Democrats on the road ahead in the latest White House outreach to invested groups.

The focus on executive orders is the result of the White House and other Democrats acknowledging the political difficulty of enacting any new gun legislation, a topic Biden did not address in Monday’s meeting.

The executive actions could include giving the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention authority to conduct national research on guns, more aggressive enforcement of existing gun laws and pushing for wider sharing of existing gun databases among federal and state agencies, members of Congress in the meeting said.

“It was all focusing on enforcing existing law, administering things like improving the background database, things like that that do not involve a change in the law but enforcing and making sure that the present law is administered as well as possible,” said Rep. Bobby Scott (D-Va.).

The White House declined to comment on the details of what Obama will propose.

But Biden did indicate that the remains of the Obama campaign apparatus may be activated in the effort.

“He said that this has been a real focus on the policy and that the politics of this issue, that a strategy on the politics of the issue hasn’t been undertaken yet,” Rep. Jackie Speier (D-Calif.) told POLITICO. “He did remind us that the campaign infrastructure is still accessible.”

Biden did not address two of the more significant issues in the gun debate: the appointment of a permanent director of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, and the role violent images in the entertainment industry play in the nation’s gun violence.

Obama touched on his expected legislative guns agenda at his own news conference in the East Room on Monday, while stressing the power he has via executive order.

“How we are gathering data, for example, on guns that fall into the hands of criminals, and how we track that more effectively — there may be some steps that we can take administratively as opposed through legislation,” Obama said.

Even Democrats who back gun control concede that reinstating an assault weapons ban — the 1994 law expired in 2004 — will be a heavy lift for the White House. During his meeting with gun-rights groups last week, Biden mentioned only an assault weapons ban when telling the NRA and other organizations that Obama has “made up his mind” to support it.

“I think everybody acknowledges that the assault weapons ban is a challenge, but other things — like the size of the magazines, the background checks, straw purchases — are all things that have a good chance of passing,” Scott said.

Speier said she told Biden the White House should do as much as it can on its own.

“I urged him to do as much by executive order as possible,” she said. “Frankly, I don’t have a lot of confidence that this Congress is going to do anything significant.”

And Rep. Mike Thompson (D-Calif.), the chairman of the House Democrats’ Gun Violence Prevention Task Force, said the magazine ban and universal background checks would be far more effective than an assault weapons ban without the political cost.

“Probably the most recognizable thing you can say in this debate is ban assault weapons,” Thompson said. “But the other two issues” — forbidding high-capacity ammunition magazines and requiring universal background checks for gun purchases — “those two things have more impact on making our neighborhoods safe than everything else combined. Anytime you try and prohibit what kind of gun people has it generates some concern.”

Biden’s personal gun violence outreach now includes the families of the 26 victims of the Dec. 14 school massacre in Newtown, Conn. Biden told the Monday meeting that he’s been reaching out to the families. A White House official confirmed the vice president has been in touch directly with some of the families.

“The vice president mentioned that he has called every one of the families that has lost children in Connecticut, and that the conversations have lasted no less than 45 minutes,” Speier said.

National Rifle Association President David Keene tells Newsmax that President Obama could be violating the Constitution if he circumvents Congress and imposes gun control by executive order — and his presidency will be “at risk” if he proceeds.

Keene also says gun control advocates will ultimately fail in their efforts to ban assault weapons, despite Obama’s “rabid advisers” who will push the ban.

And he asserts that the administration is asking the “wrong questions” in the wake of the Newtown, Conn., shootings and is instead seeking to politicize the tragedy.

Keene assumed the presidency of the NRA and its 4-million-plus members in May 2011. Previously he served as chairman of the American Conservative Union from 1984 to 1991.

In an exclusive interview with Newsmax TV on Tuesday, Keene reacts to the president’s warning on Monday that he would take “executive action” to impose gun control.

“Our concern is the same that most Americans should have whenever a president tries to circumvent Congress, because what the president is really saying is ‘I’m going to do these things myself, and I’m not going to submit them to the representatives of the people.’

“We don’t know what he’s going to try to do by executive order. There are obviously some things he can’t do and there are some things he shouldn’t be doing, but in order to implement these various changes he’s going to have to go to Congress to get the money to fund it. So there are going to be votes on these things, there is going to be a debate in Congress, and our members and other gun owners, and believers of the Second Amendment, are going to have the right to be heard.”

Former attorney general Edwin Meese told Newsmax on Monday that the president risks impeachment if he uses executive orders for gun control.

Keene comments: “The fact of the matter is we have a Constitution, we have divided responsibilities, we have separation of powers, and we have checks and balances, and a president who ignores all of that is at risk.

“Congress, regardless of the issue, whether it’s firearms regulation or anything else, should be very jealous of its own prerogative and I expect this Congress will probably take action against the president. You don’t have to go as far as impeachment. You could cut off the funds to implement these kinds of things. You can take congressional action to reverse what he does in any instances.”

As for what actions the NRA could take if Obama seeks to restrict Second Amendment rights, Keene explains: “We could go to court. We could ask our friends to go to court, and we could certainly ask our friends in Congress to take action to reverse what the president does.

“The NRA is viewed by the president and others as the roadblock standing in the way of his violating the Constitution in these instances. It’s not the NRA, it’s the people we represent. They keep talking about how powerful we are. It’s not us, it’s the people of this country who understand the Constitution, value the Second Amendment, and are very jealous of the right that they have.”

Despite any presidential efforts, Keene believes a ban on assault weapons won’t pass Congress.

He tells Newsmax: “The fact is that right now the American people are smarter than their politicians. The Gallup Poll and others show that they don’t support a so-called assault weapons ban. They know we had one, and they know it didn’t work.

“Right now I don’t see the Congress passing an assault weapons ban, which is why the president is sort of seen to be backing from that. His more rabid advisers want to proceed regardless, but it’s going to depend on how much of his political capital he’s willing to spend in such a fight.

“The president says these are assault weapons designed to wreak havoc in battle. The AR-15 is not an assault weapon designed to wreak havoc in battle. It’s a semi-automatic commercial rifle. If we equipped our Army with it, we would lose to every third-world, tin-pot dictator because military assault weapons are full automatic machine guns.

“So what happens is you create a caricature and then you sell it and pretty soon even people who think they’re being fair accept it and you’re dealing in mythology rather than reality.”

The battle shaping up in Congress is being described as the biggest congressional fight on gun control in almost 20 years, but Keene contends that there are ideas and solutions that both sides can agree upon.

“One reason we’re having the battle is that following the tragedy in Connecticut the administration really asked the wrong question,” he tells Newsmax.

“The question they asked was not how do we protect our kids, what do we do to prevent or minimize the chances of this happening again. The question they asked was what can we do about guns, because that’s what they wanted to do and have wanted to do for some time.

“On the question of how do we protect tour kids, there is area for common ground. One thing, since the 1960s we have been concerned – and it was in the 1960s that the mental health system in this country began to collapse – about the violently mentally ill getting their hands on firearms.

“If you go back to one of the most famous early mass shootings, it was the fellow who climbed onto the clock tower at the University of Texas after telling his psychiatrist what he was going to do: climb up onto the clock tower and shoot students. And we said at that time that we need to be looking at this and finding ways to prevent these people from getting their hands on firearms.

“We have proposed over time that those who’ve been adjudicated to be potentially violently mentally ill should be included on the list that are checked when someone tries to buy a gun so that they will be prohibited from buying one. At one point, some years ago, Chuck Schumer on national television shook hands with Wayne LaPierre, our executive vice president, and said, ‘I’ll help you do that.’ It hasn’t been done. Nothing’s been done.

“We can also agree on trying to do something to improve the mental health care system in this country so that these people receive the treatment that they need. Almost every one of these mass shootings have involved not a criminal, but somebody who’s literally crazy, somebody who’s a violent schizophrenic, somebody who’s been noticed by others and has fallen through the cracks of the mental healthcare system. That’s what we need to fix in the long term.

“In the short term what we need to do is provide security in the schools because the people that do this are essentially looking for some place where they are not going to be challenged, where they can go in and simply kill people.

“These are cowards, these are people that are sick, these are people that are crazy, and they need to be prevented from having both firearms and from walking the streets as dangerous as they are.”

Asked if the Obama administration is politicizing the tragedy at the Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Keene responds: “Of course they are. The entire anti-Second Amendment network in this country, led by politicians and funded by [New York City Mayor] Michael Bloomberg, was just waiting for an opportunity to pursue the agenda that they’ve wanted to pursue for some time.

“Sandy Hook gave them that opportunity and they swung into action. This is a president who long before he ran for office was an anti-Second Amendment activist. This is a president who before he was re-elected told Sarah Brady, the head of one of the leading anti-Second Amendment groups in this country, that he had to operate, at that time, under the radar. This is a president who’s doing what he’s always wanted to do and it has less to do with gun violence than it has to do with pursuing an ideological agenda.”

He adds: “We have a system now where if you want to buy a firearm in a gun shop or at a gun show from a licensed firearm dealer, you go through the Instant Check System. Last year, something like 77,000 people who tried to buy firearms were denied the purchase because they were in prohibited categories, felons and the like. Attempting to buy a firearm, if you’re in one of those prohibited groups, is in itself a crime.

“I believe the government has prosecuted 47 or 48 of those 77,000 people. And when we raised that question, we were told the government doesn’t have time to be doing all of this; we have more important things to do. Well, if the laws that we have are not enforced because the government just doesn’t have the time to do it, why would they go out and seek more laws? It’s not because they’re trying to solve a problem. It’s because they don’t believe Americans should have the right to own and use firearms.

“But I’m convinced that we’ll be able as a united community, not just the NRA but the millions and millions of Americans who care about the Second Amendment, who are hunters, who are shooters, who use firearms for self-defense, who collect firearms, or who simply believe in the values that the Second Amendment represents, we’re going to prevail. We’ve prevailed in the past and we will this time as well.”

As stronger sentiment concerning gun control mounts on the American streets, Glenn Beck invited renown historian and Wallbuilders founder David Barton on his Tuesday evening program to provide viewers with a comprehensive overview of the Second Amendment as a foundation for liberty and freedom.Beck was compelled to provide this in-depth look after 19 potential executive actions were identified to move the Obama administration forward with new gun control measures.

Those measures include but are not limited to: requiring mental health screenings of both the buyer and seller; banning military-style “assault” weapons and high-capacity magazines; issuing a statute prohibiting gun trafficking; and an “end” to the “hobbling of federal agencies.”“This is not about preventing mass-murders it is about eliminating your right to bear arms,” Beck slammed. “This administration will never waste a good emergency.” “Americans need to know where the Second Amendment even comes from…The history of our ‘why and how,’ and how it has shaped our foundation of freedom.”A glance back in time

Barton, whose knowledge-base in American history is by many considered second to none, said that the Second Amendment is truly about a “certain set of principles.” He added that people should not separate the Second Amendment from other amendments, particularly the first five, as they are all aligned and part of one larger concept of protection of one’s self, religion and property. In other words ”unalienable rights.” The Founding Fathers, according to Barton, believed that God gave these rights to mankind and that no government could take them away.

“That is why our government is different,” he explained, “other world governments trampled peoples rights… the idea was to prevent the government from ever trampling our rights.” He added that unlike any country in Europe, Americans insisted the government could not touch what God had given them.The Founders also used the philosophy term “laws of nature and nature is God,” which Barton informed is contained in Blackstone’s commentary on the law. The idea is that certain things come to one from nature, such as the deep-seated biological mechanism of self-defense. The historian also noted that James Wilson, a signer of both the Constitution and Declaration of Independence noted that the law of nature is to defend oneself, and that — through the castle doctrine — a private citizen failing to defend his home or family — even with deadly force — would be considered negligence.As the interview continued, Barton went on to explain how different the times were at America’s founding, and that citizens could even penalized for not carrying a gun. The topic then veered to the lawless days of the Wild West, its religious revival and the role of Texas Rangers in enforcing the law. In addition, Barton addressed the founding of the NRA. While some like to demonize pro-Second Amendment group and even call it prejudiced, it turns out the powerful group was in fact started by two Union generals in 1871 as a means to driving out the Ku Klux Klan and ensuring that blacks, who although then-free were not allowed means with which to defend themselves — could in fact legally own a gun.Barton also noted that even after the Whiskey and Shays rebellions, and even the assassinations of Lincoln Garfield and McKinley, calls for gun bans never came into play. NRA: If Anyone Is 'Ginning Up Fear' About Guns, It's President Obama


National Rifle Association president David Keene reacted harshly Tuesday to President Obama's assertion that gun control opponents have a "pretty effective way of ginning up fear" in garnering support for its cause.

In fact, in an interview with WMAL's Mornings On The Mall program, Keene turned the question of 'fear' back on Mr. Obama.

"The reason gun sales are up is because people do fear that the President is going to take away their right to purchase legitimate firearms in the future, so if anyone's 'ginning up fear' - if anybody's exaggerating the 'danger' posed by legitimate firearms owners - it's the President of the United States and his Vice President, not us," said Keene.

Keene told WMAL that, despite assertions to the contrary, the White House has offered little more than lip service to the NRA in looking for common ground, and that an Association representative was not given a chance to contribute at the gun summit chaired by Vice President Joe Biden last week.

In their latest rush to further emasculate the Second Amendment, many on the Left are taking aim at the Internet.

Of course, illegal online sales of weapons and ammunition should be stopped--though the practice isn’t nearly as prevalent as the left would have you believe.
But progressives are also looking to ban legal online sales through a bevy of new gun control resolutions, including H.R. 142, which "would ban Internet or mail order ammunition purchases."
Meanwhile, the state of New York just passed a ban on Internet “assault weapon” sales.
Progressives act as though the move to end all online weapons transactions is just that simple--wave a gavel, pass a law, and it’s done. Just like with guns themselves--declare a gun-free school zone, and all schools will be gun-free.
But they are not always such regulatory optimists.
Remember SOPA-PIPA? The Stop Online Piracy Act and the Protect Intellectual Property Act--the bills that ham-handedly sought to rein in rampant online property theft-for-profit. Stolen music and movies being sold on the Web is a costs the creators of these works billions of dollars each year, and these vastly overreaching bills were an attempt to address it.
I was opposed to the bills - they went far too far. But I remain an ardent supporter of the premise behind them--the protection of private property.
Progressives also opposed SOPA and PIPA; their reasoning, based on the claim that such laws were irrelevant as they would ultimately fail to stop online piracy--when juxtaposed with their confident intent to block online weapons sales--induces whiplash.But they’re at least against the thieves themselves, right? Not quite, unless it's a competitor who is allegedly stealing from them.
The left asserts we can’t do anything to stop illegal online theft, but that we can unilaterally and completely stop legal online weapons sales.
In this case, it’s not a technological question--it’s an ideological one. They bizarrely defend the actions of internet pirates, but not those adhering to the protections of the Second Amendment.
So they will claim impotence on the former, while doing whatever it takes to impinge the latter--including assuming vast new authority over the Internet.

The new legislation features a requirement that therapists, doctors, nurses, and social workers inform government authorities if the provider believes a patient is likely to harm himself or others. A report of this kind could lead to rescinding the patient’s gun permit and the confiscation of any guns owned by the patient.
Dr. Steven Dubovsky, chairman of the psychiatry department at the University of Buffalo, called the new requirement meaningless. “It’s pure political posturing,” and a deceptive attempt to reassure the public, he said.
Dubovsky said that the new law seems to turn mental health professionals into law enforcement officers, and that it cannot be taken seriously because therapists will not be held liable if they do not report a patient they believe is harmful. Consequently, Dubovsky thinks most therapists will ignore the law and continue to manage potentially harmful patients as they do now.
He added that “no patient is going to tell you anything if they think you’re going to report them.”
Dr. Paul Appelbaum, Director of Law, Ethics, and Psychiatry at Columbia University, said that the new measure could cause patients to refrain from revealing thoughts of hostility or harm, or even from seeking treatment altogether.
“The people who argue most need to be in treatment and most need to feel free to talk about these disturbing impulses, may be the ones we make least likely to do so,” Appelbaum said. “They will either simply not come, or not report the thoughts that they have.”
Appelbaum added, “If people with suicidal or homicidal impulses avoid treatment for fear of being reported in this way, they may be more likely to act on those impulses.”
Under the Tarasoff ruling of the 1970’s, mental health professionals have a duty to warn potential victims of a patient. According to Appelbaum, this can be accomplished in several ways: 1) the patient can be committed to an institution, voluntarily or not; 2) the patient’s medication can be changed to reduce the risk of danger; 3) the intended victim of the patient can be warned.
Appelbaum added that the patient’s family can be asked to lock up any guns in the home, or monitor the patient to determine if he or she is behaving in such a way that could make violence more likely, like drinking or refusing to take medication. In such cases, the family can contact the patient’s mental health professional.
Appelbaum explained that the current way of managing potentially harmful patients is flexible and does not, in all cases, breach confidentiality. He said that the new law, however, requires that the patient be reported to mental health authorities.
“It undercuts the clinical approach to treating these impulses, and instead turns it into a public safety issue,” Appelbaum stated.
Appelbaum also observed that in many shooting massacres in the past, the gunman had not been under treatment, and would not have been deterred under the new law.

Below is a list of the 23 “executive actions” that the president will be taking in the wake of the Sandy Hook massacre. Via the Wall Street Journal.
“There’s very little in this part that will be too big or controversial,” claims Business Insider. “It’s very small bore regulatory stuff.”
We’ll let you decide:
1. Issue a Presidential Memorandum to require federal agencies to make relevant data available to the federal background check system.
2. Address unnecessary legal barriers, particularly relating to the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act, that may prevent states from making information available to the background check system.
3. Improve incentives for states to share information with the background check system.
4. Direct the Attorney General to review categories of individuals prohibited from having a gun to make sure dangerous people are not slipping through the cracks.
5. Propose rulemaking to give law enforcement the ability to run a full background check on an individual before returning a seized gun.
6. Publish a letter from ATF to federally licensed gun dealers providing guidance on how to run background checks for private sellers.

15. Direct the Attorney General to issue a report on the availability and most effective use of new gun safety technologies and challenge the private sector to develop innovative technologies.
16. Clarify that the Affordable Care Act does not prohibit doctors asking their patients about guns in their homes.
17. Release a letter to health-care providers clarifying that no federal law prohibits them from reporting threats of violence to law-enforcement authorities.
18. Provide incentives for schools to hire school resource officers.
19. Develop model emergency-response plans for schools, houses of worship and institutions of higher education.
20. Release a letter to state health officials clarifying the scope of mental-health services that Medicaid plans must cover.
21. Finalize regulations clarifying essential health benefits and parity requirements within ACA exchanges.
22. Commit to finalizing mental-health-parity regulations.
23. Launch a national dialogue led by Secretaries Sebelius and Duncan on mental health.

President Barack Obama on Wednesday called for new bans on “military-style assault weapons” and high-capacity ammunition magazines and for universal background checks for gun buyers.
Flanked by Vice President Joe Biden and four schoolchildren who had written the White House in the wake of the Newtown shooting, Obama also signed 23 executive actions aimed at curbing gun violence.
Those executive actions include strengthening existing background checks by requiring federal agencies make more data available, nominating a new director for the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, mandating better reporting of gun crimes and directing the Centers for Disease Control to study gun violence. He also asked doctors and other medical professionals to help by reporting threats of violence from patients with access to firearms.
Despite fervid speculation before Wednesday’s announcement about the sweeping measures Obama might take, he laid much of the responsibility on Congress to take action on his $500 million plan.
“To make a real and lasting difference, Congress must act,” Obama said. “And Congress must act soon.”
The president vowed to “put everything I’ve got into this” but added, “the only way we can change is if the American people demand it.”
Obama said there will be those who call the government’s actions a “tyrannical all-out assault on liberty” but said such claims are unfounded. He said the majority of the American people agree with his proposals.

Obama concluded his remarks Wednesday by acknowledging the parents of 7-year-old Sandy Hook Elementary victim Grace McDonnell, a little girl who loved art. Obama said one of McDonnell’s paintings now hangs in his private office.
“We must act now, for Grace. For the 25 other innocent children and adults,” Obama said. “Let’s do the right thing for them and for this country we love so much.”
Before Wednesday’s announcement, the National Rifle Association vowed to wage “the fight of the century” against Obama.
“I warned you this day was coming and now it’s here,” NRA CEO Wayne LaPierre wrote in a fundraising letter to members. “It’s not about protecting your children. It’s not about stopping crime. It’s about banning your guns … PERIOD!”
But the organization issued a decidedly dialed-back statement Wednesday afternoon, saying it would “continue to focus on keeping our children safe and securing our schools, fixing our broken mental health system, and prosecuting violent criminals to the fullest extent of the law.”
“Attacking firearms and ignoring children is not a solution to the crisis we face as a nation. Only honest, law-abiding gun owners will be affected and our children will remain vulnerable to the inevitability of more tragedy,” the NRA said.

Obama's Executive Disarmament Confirms that the Tea Party Can Not Go Away

Obama brings kids to the White House as props for photo-op and as an emotional appeal to unveil his illegal gun control plans. Obama despicably using kids to undermine the Second Amendment via executive order is a perfect example of why the Tea Party cannot go away.

Due to extensive media coverage of Obama’s Disarmament Show, low-info voters will cry hearing stories of how guns make kids fearful and give Obama carte blanche, regardless of the Constitution. Predicting from their pattern of spineless behavior, Republicans will probably simply go along with Obama’s illegal dictates. So who will stand and be the voice of our Founding Fathers and We The People? Answer: the Tea Party.

Despite the Tea Party being falsely branded as a bunch of racist extremists by Obama’s supportive media, we are the lone voice and last hope for America as intended by our Founding Fathers. If we quit, America becomes paradise lost.
As a child, my cousins said I was stubborn. If I became annoyed or they refused to play my way, I would pick up my toys and go home. Unfortunately, some on our side have reacted the same way since the re-election of Obama. Frustrated and angry, they have taken their toys and gone home to play golf, work in their garden, or take up basket-weaving.


Paul, in the Bible, said, “When I was a child, I spake and acted like a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child: but when I became a man, I put away childish things” (I Corinthians 13:11).

When you pepper your speech with the term assault weapon, you unknowingly are accepting the language of gun control fanatics.
Stop saying it. You only strengthen the meme every time you say it.
Josh Sugarman, author of the controversial book Assault Weapons and Accessories in America, is a diehard gun control activist. In his 1988 book he is recognized as the first to attribute the defining military term Assault to civilian-ized arms. Assault Rifle became - jabberwocky - assault-weapon. Because a gun control fanatic said so.

"Assault weapons-just like armor-piercing bullets, machine guns, and plastic firearms-are a new topic. Sugarman telegraphs his fear of how menacing a rifle looks. Especially the hated M16 and its carbine cousin the M4.

Gun control fanatics have already corrupted our common language by getting the made-up term assault weapon into the discourse. An assault rifle is classified as fully automatic while the term assault-weapon is a political chimera with no specific or intelligent definition. For the perpetually fearful (low information television hosts) an assault-weapon is, like the Red Queen, whatever they say it is. (The Red Queen of Alice in Wonderland is famous for saying 'a word means whatever I want it to mean')
Assault weapon is known in Jurisprudence as a 'Term of Art', again Red Queen territory because a Term of Art is (apologies to attorneys everywhere) often a slippery slope of misdirection and hidden intent.
Stop saying assault-weapon. You advance gun control activists' agenda when you do. By using their Terms. Rifle, yes. Assault-weapon, no. It's a big no no. Ask any attorney - would he rather have eye witnesses, or control of the Terms? Control the Terms, control the argument. It is that simple. Do not contribute to the miasma sweeping the nation. Low information TV hosts and low information journalists and low information voters have a hard enough time with comprehension as it is. Do not add to it by parroting the language of the activists

Sen. Rand Paul to Propose Bill to 'Nullify' Obama's Executive Orders on Gun Control

Paul released his plan, called the Separation of Powers Restoration and Second Amendment Protection Act 2013, on Wednesday. The document, which he plans to introduce early next week, has several purposes.
The bill intends to condemn the use of executive orders which undermine the powers reserved for Congress under the Constitution. It specifically mentions Article I of the Constitution which states, “All legislative powers herein granted shall be vested in a Congress of the United States.”
Paul’s proposed legislation also declares “null and void” any executive order that “infringes on the powers and duties of the Congress under Article I, Section 8 of the Constitution and the Second Amendment.”
The bill also intends to prohibit funding for an “Executive Order Restricting [the] 2^nd Amendment.”
Finally, the proposal “provides an avenue for Members of Congress, Official Officers of the States and aggrieved private persons to challenge the Executive Orders in Court.”
In an interview with Fox News’ Sean Hannity on Wednesday night, Paul said, “I’m afraid that President Obama may have this king complex sort of developing, and we’re going to make sure that doesn’t happen.”
Paul said that President Obama has “a history of arrogance” trying to legislate from the Oval Office.
However, Paul criticized the use of executive orders in general.
“It’s been a long battle that we’ve been losing gradually and even Republican presidents have also usurped their executive privilege to exert more authority than the Constitution gave them,” he said. “But, you know, our founders looked to Montesquieu, and Montesquieu wrote that there can be no liberty when you combine the executive and legislative powers.”
On his Facebook page, Sen. Paul wrote, “In the United States, we do not have a king. But we do have a Constitution. We also have a 2^nd Amendment. I will fight tooth and nail to protect it.”

Introduced by state senator Nathan Dahm, this legislation puts Oklahoma shoulder-to-shoulder with Wyoming and Texas by putting federal gun-grabbers in check.
The language of the legislation is clear: "Federal acts, laws, orders, rules, regulations, bans or registration requirements regarding firearms constitute an infringement on the individual right [to keep and bear arms] in the Constitution of the United States...and are hereby declared to be invalid in the State of Oklahoma."
The legislation mentions the "intent" of America's "Founders" and the Constitution's "ratifiers," and sets forth the punishment for trying to enforce new gun control measures:

Any official, agent, or employee of the United States government or any employee of a corporation providing services to the United States government that enforces or attempts to enforce an act, order, law, statute, rule or regulation of the government of the United States in violation of this act shall be guilty of a felony and upon conviction...shall be punished by imprisonment in the custody of the Department of Corrections not to exceed five (5) years.

After reading this legislation, only one word comes to mind--FREEDOM.

as a side bar... getting my hair cut today; my barber a female liberal who gives me "amazing haircuts and is gorgeous" "other wise I would look for a new barber" got a 40 dollar tip for a 14 dollar hair cut "Which by the way was the worst hair cut I have ever had done by anyone"

It seems so was so pissed off she couldnt focus

1. I have never seen her so pissed

2. She happens to have a conceiled carry permit

3. She just became the newest Independant after Obama went for the guns and the 2nd Amendment
