Obama Seeks Emergency Funds to Expedite Illegal Immigrant Deportations

Obama Seeks Emergency Funds to Expedite Illegal Immigrant Deportations

President Barack Obama is planning to ask Congress for more than $2 billion in emergency funds in order to address the growing border patrol problem and to expedite the deportation of illegal immigrant children being held in shelters in the United States.

    According to the Associated Press:

Obama plans to make the requests of Congress in a letter to be sent Monday, the White House official said. Details of the emergency appropriation, including the exact amount and how it will be spent, will come after lawmakers return from their holiday recess on July 7, said the official, who was not authorized to speak by name and discussed the requests on condition of anonymity.
Obama will also ask that the Homeland Security Department be granted the authority to apply "fast track" procedures to the screening and deportation of all immigrant children traveling without their parents and that stiffer penalties be applied to those who smuggle children across the border, the official said.
In an ABC News interview Thursday the president spoke out against the current processing system used by the DHS:

“The problem is that under current law, once those kids come across the border, there’s a system in which we’re supposed to process them, take care of them, until we can send them back.”

He additionally sent a clear message to families in Central America, warning them not to send their children across the border.

“If they make it, they’ll get sent back. More importantly, they may not make it.”
More than 60 percent of Americans disapprove of how Obama is handling immigration issues, according to a recent Gallup poll. Perhaps his direct warning to Central Americans and his request to Congress will sway these numbers.

Talk about Cloward and Piven on immigrationReuters is reporting that Barack Obama will ask Congress for more than $2 billion to deal with the influx of illegal alien children that are flooding our borders. First, he doesn't enforce the law that would stop this mess, now he's demanding that we pay for it!

The flood of illegals coming across our southern border has overwhelmed Border Patrol to the point where they are no longer even attempting to stop the invasion (Yes, that's what it is) of illegal aliens coming into the United States.
Obama is set to make the request for $2 billion in US taxpayer money in a letter on Monday, following the holiday recess on July 7.
As our borders become more and more insecure, Obama is alleged to pursue greater authority for immigration officials to deal with a speedy deportation of children who have been caught crossing the border from Guatemala, Honduras, and El Salvador. Mexico? No comment. However, one must consider what will happen to these children? Dave Hodges may have some input on that.
Obama is also said to want increased penalties for "coyotes" who smuggle children across the border for profit.
While Obama's spokesman said that Obama will also request "sustained border security surge through enhanced domestic enforcement," as well as increasing the number of immigration judges to deal with this, one has to wonder why he hasn't been enforcing immigration laws to begin with.
In May, Suzanne Hamner reported on Obama's position when it comes to enforcing immigration laws. Citing The Daily Caller:
"Cops should be going after major criminals, not the many illegal immigrants that are quietly living in their districts," said Obama, who has twice sworn to uphold the nation's laws.
"You've got to spend time dealing with somebody who is not causing any other trouble other than the fact that they were trying to make a living for their families," Obama said.
"That's just not a good use of our resources. It's not smart. It doesn't make sense," said Obama, who has already directed immigration police to minimize the enforcement of illegals living far from the border.
    The Wall Street Journal reports:
A record number of minors—more than 52,000 children since the fiscal year began in October—are streaming across the border, most of whom enter through the Rio Grande Valley in Texas. U.S. law requires that apprehended children be turned over to the Department of Health and Human Services, which places them with sponsors in the U.S.—usually family—while their deportation cases are heard. Clogged immigration courts and the wide array of legal avenues to extend children's stay in the U.S. can mean these young migrants can be north of the border for years.

Administration officials and other experts worry that the backlog may encourage parents to send their children on what can be a perilous—and even fatal—journey to the U.S., often in the hands of abusive smugglers.

The White House says it will ask for authority to return children to their home countries more quickly. This will apply to countries that aren't contiguous to the U.S., as U.S. law already allows for a quick return to Mexico, given the shared border.

The White House has also asked for a "sustained border security surge," a request likely to be welcomed by congressional Republicans, who have said the increase in border crossings is diluting the ability of the border patrol to maintain security.
So, isn't this good news? It depends on what ideology you hold to. Obama isn't taking any responsibility for this, even though his administration has been working with the Mexican government to encourage illegal immigration and all the goodies that is can provide to those crossing the border illegally. He has failed to enforce immigration laws, which does nothing more than encourage more illegal activity, even if those engaging in it are only "trying to make a living for their families."

Because of Obama's failures to enforce immigration policy, according to an oath he has taken twice, he now wants you and me to pay for his dereliction of duty. I don't know about you, but I say that the proper payment would be impeachment of a president, not a lawsuit, who has broken the law by not enforcing it.
