OBAMA will be in Mesa, Arizona on Wednesday February 18th, 2009

SCHEDULE:
Obama is expected to fly into Phoenix’s Sky Harbor International Airport at 5:15 p.m.
Tuesday, according to White House Media Affairs.
Wednesday, doors open to the ticketed public at 8:30 a.m. at Dobson High School.
Obama is expected to speak about 10:15 a.m. to 11 a.m.
Expected to leave Phoenix around 12:45 p.m.

He will speak in the school’s gymnasium, which typically holds about 2,000 people. It won't be known till Monday how many Dobson HS students and members of the public will be allowed into the event, all specifics will be figured out Monday. Its expected all the tickets will go early, I'm hearing only 200 public tickets will be available, but there's always the sidewalk! Read down for possible areas

DETAILS
Air Force 1 - His plane will be at the Executive terminal at Sky Harbor, on the far west side of the airport. North of the entrance road.
Route - the simplest, most direct way. Probably West out of the airport, south on 24th st to the 10, east on the 60, south on 101 to Guadalupe. This maximizes freeway time (high speed, hard target). But since he arrives the night before, this will probably not happen. The motorcade will go directly to the hotel, wherever that might be. Highly doubtful he stays the night on Air Force 1.

Entrance and exit from Dobson HS: As close as possible to the entry of the gymnasium, probably drive right up on the sidewalk next to the door. Security will be amazing and Obama will not be visible to the ordinary spectator.
Protesters: Will be segregated a couple blocks away, probably in a park away from the motorcade route. Doubtful Obama see any protesters or picket signs, but not impossible!
Security: Hundreds of police, FBI, Secret Service. All of which are already on the job, scouting out the area, identifying any potential 'problem' people or groups.
Streets of the route may be kept completely empty for an hour or so before motorcade appears. First sign will be motorcycle officers going down the route. Could be just a few, more likely 30 or so. A few minutes of nothing happening, then another group of motorcycle officers, just like the first. Then the motorcade appears. 20 to 30 cars, hummers, limos, etc. At least 2 limos will be flying the presidential flag as a decoy. Leaving the high school will be similar. Quick and fast. Unless of course they fly him in a helicopter, then who knows.

TIPS: Protesting is extremely important, and needs to be done, (".. if not me, who?") Just don't get put into the 'official protester area' Chances are you will not even be seen by Obama, but it' not impossible. Look for areas on sidewalks where you might be seen. It is still a success whether of not he sees you; we will have done what we went there to do -- protest this "Administration" and call it to the attention of the Washington AND the American People! We may even help to instill hope and confidence in others.

TIPS: Stand on the side of the road, best probably on Guadalupe between the 101 and the high school. THEN the he will see you. The route could be different, however - possibly the 60 to Dobson or Stapley, then south to Guadalupe, then to the high school. Doubtful, though, since the Secret Service wants to maximize security big-time, which means straight roads and high speed.
Don't even try to get on one of the overpasses over the freeway - there will be cops officers on every single one to keep you off.
Check out the area ahead of time if possible. There is a Catholic Church across the street and you can't stand on the property, but what about the sidewalk in front of it?
