Fast And Furious: The White House's Benghazi trouble has become its biggest headache in the last days before the election. But it's not the administration's only scandal. Don't forget its deadly gun-running operation.

Rep. Darrell Issa of California and Sen. Charles Grassley of Iowa haven't. They continue to press the Justice Department about Fast and Furious. On Tuesday, the Republican lawmakers sent Attorney General Eric Holder a letter asking for more information about a strategy that left a U.S. border agent dead, guns in the hands of some disagreeable characters and dead bodies strewn across Mexico.

They probably won't get too far with Holder, who has tried his best to dead-end the congressional investigation into Fast and Furious. He's not likely to be any more helpful than he already has been — which is to say he's been an obstruction.

In fact, he might dig in deeper after a congressional report issued Monday indicated that Fast and Furious was a "deliberate strategy created at the highest levels of the Justice Department aimed at identifying the leaders of a major gun-trafficking ring."

Highest levels? Does than include Holder? Considering that the probe said "a series of speeches" made by him inspired the scheme, we'd say that's a good bet.

The report was further damning of Holder when it reported that "Acting Deputy Attorney General Gary Grindler and his staff were briefed extensively" about Fast and Furious and "no one ordered" it to be shut down.

Indeed, the operation "had many enablers among the senior levels of the Justice Department."

Holder has bitterly clung to the story that he was not aware of the problems of Fast and Furious, which means he's lying or has failed to exercise oversight.

Either way, he's not fit to remain at the helm of the Justice Department. He should resign.

A resignation this close to an election is as improbable as a Joe Biden speech without a gaffe.

But voters need to be reminded that this administration begging to be re-elected has handled Fast and Furious much like it's handled Benghazi.

It has ignored questions, obfuscated the truth, delayed legitimate fact-finding procedures, tried to run the clock out and quite clearly lied.

This administration runs on cronyism, distortion, lies, secrecy, division, tainted campaign money and the dangerous idea that it can operate outside of constitutional restraints. Obama doesn't deserve another shot at being America's chief executive and commander in chief.
