NBC/WSJ Poll: Clinton Taking 6-Point Lead Into First Debate

    By: Cathy Burke

Hillary Clinton has a 6-point lead over Donald Trump among likely voters ahead of the first presidential debate, an NBC News/Wall Street Journal poll shows.

In the survey released Wednesday, here is the breakdown among likely voters in a four-way race:

    Clinton: 43
    Trump: 37
Libertarian nominee Gary Johnson: 9 percent
Green Pary candidate Jill Stein: 3 percent

In a head-to-head matchup, Clinton expands her lead slightly:

    Clinton: 48 percent
    Trump: 41 percent

The poll was conducted by Democratic pollster Fred Yang and GOP pollster Bill McInturff.

"Donald Trump has closed the margin since August, but as we head towards the debate, still needs to push this campaign closer," McInturff told NBC News.

"The good news for him is the electorate narrowly agrees with him that America has lost ground and wants to see a change in direction."

The first presidential debate is set for Monday.

In a breakdown of all registered voters, Clinton leads Trump 42 percent to 37 percent – down from her 9-point lead in August, NBC News reported.

In a two-way race, Clinton's edge among registered voters is 48 percent to Trump's 41 percent – also down 9 points from August, according to NBC News.

The survey has an overall margin of error of plus or minus 3.1 percentage points; among the likely voters sample, the margin of error is plus or minus 3.2 percentage points.

Nice to see Trump doing better in this poll but I still think it's way off.

Don't take anything for granted. I have been in contact with the state Trump coordinator
asking him if we can get 4x8 signs. These need to be manned along freeways EVERY DAY with an election this critical. I've worked in some close elections---you DON'T want to be there. This is an election going to be won by Ground Game---precisely where Republicans fall down. They have had it easy, and don't have the wherewithal to go around beating the bushes for votes. But liberals will since they will collect college kids eager to do that---even for the old witch, Hillary.

I don't know what they are doing at national HQ. They have to work on getting people in the nursing homes to vote! And then go person to person in the swing states. We know that CLinton will just lie and spew her way into power---and frankly there are a lot of people benefiting from the illegal alien surge. I see building companies all around this city employing them and making their small fortunes, cuz they know the lib politicians have their backs.

Check out Donald's and Hillary's likes on Twitter and Facebook and how many people like their posts. Trump has Hillary beat by a long ways on the social media sites.

Right now the first post on Donald Trump's Facebook timeline has 43K likes, his second post 15K likes and his third has 103K. Hillary's first post has 1.9K likes, second post 1.7K likes and her 3rd post has 6.7K likes. Trump has 10,767,234 page likes on Facebook while Hillary has 6,083,897 page likes. Since we know Facebook is liberal and is in the tank for Hillary this tells us something!!

On Twitter Trump has 11.7M followers while Hillary has 8.92M followers.
