Open Borders Methodist Bishop Defends Illegals
Blames U.S. for flood of illegals, saying we have “Raped Their Lands” and forced them to come here so their children don’t starve.
United Methodist Church Bishop Minerva G. Carcaño testified before the House Judiciary Committee’s Sub-committee on Immigration and Border Security Tuesday, April 19. Preceding her testimony was two mothers whose children had been murdered by illegal aliens.
Carcano is head of the California-Pacific Conference of the United Methodist Church, which supports comprehensive immigration reform.
Reportedly, The church’s Board of Child Care has received at least $7.6 million in federal grants in the last three years to provide shelter services for unaccompanied alien children who are apprehended crossing into the U.S. illegally.
The Bishop began her remarks by express her “heartfelt and sincere condolences” to the families who have lost children “due to the inexcusable actions of individuals.” Then she went on attack against the entire issue of crimes committed by illegal aliens, brushing aside the cost to the victims and upholding the needs and rights of the illegals.
“Today, as we discuss these devastating tragedies, it appears that they will be utilized as an argument for deporting more immigrants and forcing local police to serve as immigration enforcement officers. It is unjust to take isolated, tragic incidents and implicate millions of our undocumented community members. To implicate innocent men, women and children in actions they did not commit is not justice, and goes against our best values as Americans. I implore you to reject blind vengeance, which is neither restorative nor practical. We must not allow our grief to divide our communities and engender hate and fear against our immigrant brothers and sisters.”
She testified that the U.S. has “raped” the lands of illegal immigrants, so they are fleeing to the U.S. so their children don’t starve. “Immigrants want to stay home. They’re not able to stay home, because we’ve undermined their economies. We have raped their lands,” Carcano testified before the House Judiciary Committee’s Subcommittee on Immigration and Border Security.
