Palin to Trump: Don’t Pick Someone from GOP Estab. as Running Mate

    by TONY LEE
    11 Jul 2016

Donald Trump is reportedly ready to announce his vice presidential pick this week, and former Alaska Governor and GOP vice presidential nominee Sarah Palin is hoping his choice is not someone from the Republican establishment or the permanent political class.

In an interview with Breitbart News Editor-in-Chief Alex Marlow on Breitbart News Sunday, which airs on Sirius XM Patriot channel 125 from 7 PM to 10 PM EST, Palin, when asked what she was looking for in Trump’s vice presidential pick, said she wanted someone who is a “bit unconventional” and not involved in “any part of the [political] machinery.”

Palin warned that if Trump selects someone from the Republican establishment as his running mate, then “that’s going to turn off too many conservatives.” She feared such a choice would discourage conservatives from “showing up to vote—and that’s a vote for Hillary.”

Palin said she wanted Trump to pick someone who “is going top put it all on the the line” like the founders put their personal lives, fortunes, families, and professions on the line to fight for what is right and the future of the country.

If Trump picks someone with a pro amnesty view on immigration like Chris Christie, Newt Gingrich, Rick Perry, etc... it would be a major, and possibly irrecoverable blow, to his campaign.

The only other person I would think that would be suitable for the position and have the necessary experience would be Sen. Sessions. If he gets the nod, immigration issues and trade issues are going to be dealt with a strong and steady hand.

Palin may be attempting to throw her own name in the hat. Although, she makes a good point regarding the selecting of someone outside the establishment. All these so-called establishment politicians have baggage that will be used against them during a presidential campaign ...... even Sen. Sessions. I have a man crush on Sen. Sessions and think he is far and away the best choice for VP & our country. However, the left will be using the race card against him big time.

Remember when Bush chose Dan Quayle (sp?). That was a surprise shocker to the country. Perhaps Trump will throw us a surprise. Honestly, I'd rather see that over someone like Gingrich, Christie, or Pence.

One last thing. I have absolutely no doubt that Sen. Sessions will be offered a position in a Trump administration. Secretary of Homeland Security would be a great position for him because, unlike Jeh Johnson, he'll figure out ways to deport illegals instead of ignoring immigration law in an effort to keep them here. The big question remains though, can we afford to lose him in the Senate? Furthermore, Sessions may figure it's too late in life for him to make such a change.

Cruz is speaking at the convention. Any thoughts on those 2 burying the hatchet and he picks Cruz? He would get all the Cruz supporters and delegates.

All a guessing game at this point. Trump is not stupid, he will pick the best VP. And his kids certainly have input.

I only trust Scott Brown and Sessions on the list. Newt some other capacity, Secretary of State? He is a good speaker and knows the system.

Agree 100%. For VP, Scott Brown is the the best choice for so many reasons.

Coulter is right, Kansas Secretary of State, Kris Kobach, should be on Trump's short list, but I've never heard anyone mention him but Coulter.
