    Pandering to illegals

    BY THE TRIBUNE-REVIEW | Tuesday, Aug. 9, 2016, 9:00 p.m.

In a bid to continue the ineffectual immigration legacy of President Obama, if not a pander for Hispanic votes, Democrat presidential candidate Hillary Clinton vows to, if elected, introduce comprehensive immigration “reform” within her first 100 days in office.

Already that's “luring (immigrant) families to the U.S. and wrecking innocent lives,” according to a statement from the National Border Patrol Council. The labor union representing 16,500 workers says what Mrs. Clinton proposes would be worse than Mr. Obama's “disastrous” amnesty.

More executive actions would add chaos at the southern border, providing cover for drug cartels and Islamic extremists to gain entry, according to the Border Patrol council, which backs GOP presidential candidate Donald Trump.

“We are already seeing a massive influx of activity on our southern border,” according to the council.

As it is, Obama's pockmarked “pathway to citizenship” led to state lawsuits, a federal judge's injunction and finally a deadlocked Supreme Court. Now Clinton vows to expand Obama's executive actions on immigration, USA Today reports.

Any comprehensive “reform” begins with Congress — not with empty campaign promises from either candidate. And until the people's representatives determine what those reforms should be, it is the president's sworn duty to uphold this nation's immigration laws.

The solution to this problem begins with a President willing and wanting to do the right thing for US citizens which is stop illegal immigration, deport illegal aliens, build the wall, and enforce the law. These are executive actions, executive authority, we need a President willing to do that. Yes, there may be some funds needed from Congress, but not necessarily. If Obama can pull $400 million cash out of banks and deliver in the dead of night to Iran, and the Defense Department can spend somewhere between $2 Trillion and $6 Trillion on wars without any actual accounting, then there's probably some funds around that a President can use to build a wall to defend our sovereignty and protect our national security.

Hopefully our Congress would appropriate if they haven't already most of the funds needed to build the wall and we'll be reimbursed by sums extracted from Mexico.

    JUST GET R DONE!!
