Special Congressional Election in Texas
Special Congressional Election in Texas for Districts 15, 21, 23, 25, and 28
The filing deadline is Friday, August 25 at 5:00 p.m. The Special Congressional Election Day is November 7, the same day as General Election Day.

A US House of Representatives candidate does not have to live in the Congressional district for which he or she is a candidate. A candidate could live in Amarillo, Dallas, Houston, or Lubbock and run against US Representative Henry Cuellar or US Representative Lloyd Doggett or US Representative Rubén Hinojosa.

Bonilla and Rodriguez.
Bonilla's immigration voting record (see above) isn't as good as Lamar Smith's. However, Rodriguez's immigration voting record is worse than Bonilla's. Rodriguez is a former US representative.
