When outspoken businessman Donald Trump jumped into the 2016 election with a campaign kickoff in June, few expected him to emerge as a serious player in the Republican nominating fight.

Yet that's exactly what happened - national polls have placed him atop the GOP primary field for months, and he's leading most early state polls. He's earned an avalanche of media attention with his seemingly inexhaustible supply of controversial statements and proposals.

Long before he was a politician, though, he was a celebrity, thanks to his reality TV roles, his real estate empire, and other business interests. Still, even the most well-known public figures have some surprises up their sleeve. How much do you really know about Donald Trump? Take our quiz below and find out!

Did you click on the link and take the quiz? It was fun. I don't know how to post the interactive quiz in the post. About 2/3 of those who took it got more than half right out of about 4,200 people at the time, which was pretty good at 5 am in the morning.

I got 7 correct!!!!! He grew up in Jamaica Estates in N.Y......My Aunt lived there and I was over there a lot playing with the neighborhood kids....He is slightly younger than me,,,,,Wonder if I played with him????????????????
