It is said that illegal aliens migrate to the U.S. to do the jobs Americans refuse to do. This is the type of statement I hear from ill-informed Americans and pro-illegal groups. I know from first-hand experience that this statement is a lie and that illegal aliens steal middle class jobs – jobs that would, could, and should be filled by Americans.

I worked hard in the construction industry to support my kids – ten years of sweat to acquire the skills and five years to start my own construction company. I thought I had really made it big when I was invited to bid on a half-million dollar project.

After submitting my bid for that project, I was contacted by the general contractor who informed me that they wanted me to execute the work, but that they had received a much lower bid than mine, and wanted to know if I could match it. I was in disbelief when I heard the bid I was competing against. I told the general contractor the only way the other company could do the job at that price was to use illegal labor. His reaction was to laugh and say, “Well if you pay your men $3 an hour, you can do the job too.”

I could have worked 15 men on that job for two months, and, in turn, they could have paid their mortgages and car payments and put food on their tables. Instead, another company did the job and used illegals, who then sent their money back to Mexico. How do I know they were from Mexico? Because the subcontractor that used them bragged about it. He bragged that he picked them up from the border and that he let them live in his pole barn loft to avoid paying them for housing.

Construction jobs such as plastering, masonry, cement, drywall, painting and even now carpentry, are being stolen by illegal aliens.

Contractors use illegals because they can pay them less, and they don’t have to worry about paying taxes, unemployment insurance, and social security. Illegals have driven down wages because contractors are so accustomed to getting the low prices on labor. We all, then, have to lower our wages to be able to compete. When folks lose their jobs and are unable to pay their bills or taxes, it affects everyone.

The writer fails to mentions that the quality of work is terrible compared to American skill levels. So, the customer gets ripped big time, too. The contractor gets fat and selfish. One experience I had it was hell even getting the contractor to honor the warranty. That makes that American contractor a thief as well as possessing low esteem for his "imported" workers, also. He becomes an embarrassment to being American!

Also these people could care less about anyone's safety including their own, on these Construction jobs. I won't even go into the Contractor hiring them..Remember in all of this if the laws were enforced this wouldn't be happening.

    The Victims: The Best Friends

    By Ray Tranchant
Victims of Illegal Immigration - The Social Contract Press

I've forgiven the man who killed my 16-year-old daughter in a car accident in 2007. Tessa was killed by an illegal immigrant in Virginia Beach while sitting at a stop light. Her friend, Ali Kunhardt, 17, also perished instantly. The explosion was so loud that witnesses said it sounded like a bomb going off. They were hit from behind by a car traveling over 70 mph and driven by Alfredo Ramos, a previous DUI offender and alcoholic.

Tessa and Ali were beautiful girls with tons of future plans. They were skinny little girls, stuffed somewhere in the floorboards when the police and EMT crew arrived.

When I got to the hospital, the friends were lying in beds, separated by a privacy curtain. Both were perfectly still, skin cold to the touch. The EMTs and ER doctor could not save them.

Like Ramos did, hundreds of thousands of illegals in Virginia provide cheap labor to merchants, all invisible in a system good at looking the other way. Virginia doesn't share a border with Mexico, so awareness isn't as great here as in Arizona and California. Again and again, however, that system fails Americans. There have been hundreds of similar stories since Tessa and Ali died.

Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano has said she will get to the bottom of why illegals are not deported when they are repeat offenders, as Ramos was. He was sentenced to 40 years in prison and was actually smug at the trial. Through my experience, I have some advice about what must be done to solve the problem of illegal immigration. I now know what "sanctuary city" means, as Virginia Beach is accused of being, more than most ever will. It worries me that we would even consider giving 12 million foreigners legal rights to Social Security, health care, and schooling in a time of a $14 trillion national debt. I don't believe the current system can process this many people and verify that some are not criminals or terrorists.

So, while securing the borders, America must somehow identify everyone using a certifiable national system without comprising constitutional rights. I don't feel violated when an official checks my driver's license or passport. It sure beats the funeral procession that I was part of.

Forgiving is one thing, fighting to save others children must be our mission, Ray! It is a part of our children's legacy, that fathers and mothers of those that perished use our children's stories to awaken America. You are still a novice at this, I've worked on it for 24 years, even I, though, do not know how to tell you to get America to listen, unfortunately.

All I've been able to do is what Churchill said many years ago, "We will never, never give up!" To awaken Americans, I hope we do not have to suffer until the victims families become a larger group than the other group, after 24 years though I cannot allow myself to think any longer that it will not take that!
