Report (SPLC) buried Trump-related ‘hate crimes’ against white kids

Report buried Trump-related ‘hate crimes’ against white kids

    By Paul Sperry
    December 5, 2016

At least 2,000 educators around the country reported racist slurs and other derogatory language leveled against white students in the first days after Donald Trump was elected president. But the group that surveyed the teachers didn’t publish the results in its report on Trump-related “hate crimes.”

The Southern Poverty Law Center partnered with the American Federation of Teachers, which formally endorsed Hillary Clinton, to circulate the questionnaire among its 1.6 million mostly Democratic members. The survey was sent out to K-12 teachers and administrators who subscribe to its “Teaching Tolerance” newsletter.

The SPLC’s widely cited report — “The Trump Effect: The Impact of the 2016 Presidential Election on Our Nation’s Schools” — reported that 40 percent of the more than 10,000 educators who responded to the survey “have heard derogatory language directed at students of color, Muslims, immigrants and people based on gender or sexual orientation.”

The takeaway was that Trump-supporting white kids have been harassing minorities at the nation’s schools. And SPLC’s schools report, along with a broader report on alleged Trump-inspired hate crimes — “Ten Days After: Harassment and Intimidation in the Aftermath of the Election” — sparked breathless coverage in the New York Times, Washington Post and other major media.

The reports also triggered a statement Friday from the US Commission on Civil Rights, which expressed “deep concern” that “prejudice has reared its ugly head in public elementary and secondary schools.” The panel called for more federal funding to prosecute “hate crimes.”

But the SPLC didn’t present the whole story. The Montgomery, Ala.-based nonprofit self-censored results from a key question it asked educators — whether they agree or disagree with the following statement: “I have heard derogatory language or slurs about white students.”

Asked last week to provide the data, SPLC initially said it was having a hard time getting the information “from the researchers.” Pressed, SPLC spokeswoman Kirsten Bokenkamp finally revealed that “about 20 percent answered affirmatively to that question.”

Bokenkamp did not provide an explanation for the absence of such a substantial metric — at least 2,000 bias-related incidents against white students — from the report, which focuses instead on “anti-immigrant sentiment,” “anti-Muslim sentiment” and “slurs about students of color” related to the election.

“They left that result out because it would not fit their ideological narrative,” former Education Department civil rights attorney Hans Bader said. “It was deemed an inconvenient truth.”
Suppressing reports of crimes against Trump supporters gives a one-sided and misleading view of post-election discord.
Founded in 1971, SPLC claims to be a nonpartisan civil rights law firm. But it receives funding from leftist groups, including ones controlled by billionaire George Soros. And a review of Federal Election Commission records reveals that its board members have contributed more than $13,400 to Hillary Clinton’s presidential campaigns.

Bader says SPLC has an agenda to derail the Trump administration before it starts.

“These flawed SPLC reports will be cited by left-wing special interests to try to block the confirmation of moderate and conservative people to posts such as attorney general by falsely making it look like America’s schools and streets are pervaded by bigotry,” Bader said.

Last week, SPLC held a press conference in Washington to demand Trump “reconsider” his picks for White House advisers and attorney general, and “disavow” his immigration policies.

    s
“His own words have sparked the barrage of hate that we are seeing,” SPLC President Richard Cohen maintained. “He has been singing the white supremacist song since he came down the escalator in his tower and announced his candidacy.”

Cohen tied Trump to a number of hate crimes, which he warns will only “spike” once he’s inaugurated. He noted his center recorded 867 alleged anti-immigrant, anti-Muslim and anti-black hate crimes in the 10 days following Trump’s Nov. 8 win.

But the SPLC acknowledges that it has not independently verified any of the claims. It collected most of them on its website, many anonymously.

The group won’t use its $315 million in assets to investigate the “hate crimes,” or at least help alleged victims file police reports or provide them counseling or other assistance, but it has offered “sympathy.”

“We wrote back to every submission that provided an email address to express sympathy and encourage them to report the incident to local authorities,” Bokenkamp said.

Bader pointed out that most of the anti-minority “hate crimes” and “hate incidents” cited by SPLC do not legally constitute hate crimes, and many involve constitutionally protected speech.

“It is simply ridiculous that SPLC treats ‘build the wall’ as hate rhetoric,” he said. The center counted people mentioning “build the wall” as 467 incidents of hate.

“Alas, these days the SPLC is mainly a fundraising machine,” said Gail Heriot, a US Commission on Civil Rights member who voted against Friday’s resolution. “The more it can persuade its donors that hate groups have penetrated every nook and cranny of American society, the more money it can raise. Now it wants us to believe that the election has unleashed unprecedented waves of hatred and violence among schoolchildren. Let’s stop and take a deep breath before we assume that’s true. The SPLC has no credibility with anyone — on the left or the right — who is familiar with its methods.”

While there no doubt are legitimate reports of hate crimes against minorities — and even one is too many — hyping such incidents recklessly fans the flames of anxiety among such communities. And suppressing reports of crimes against Trump supporters gives a one-sided and misleading view of post-election discord.

The ACLU and SPLC along with the Anti-Defamation League have turned into what they formed to prevent. They've become what they fought.

Pass the FairTax and shut down these phony 501 C 3 "charity" frauds. Spewing hate they like do on good decent Americans should not be tax-deductible. Under the FairTax, they would be treated like any business, who pays no federal income tax or FairTax, unless they sell products or services for money, and then they collect the FairTax on those retail sales like every other retail business.

Just asking, how does fair tax fix this? Why kinds of taxes would they pay? Other than personal sales tax? I don't know how that is supposed to work. On the income?

Harsh as it may sound, I believe these organizations are doing exactly what they were formed to do.

These organizations exist through tax exempt status and tax-deductible donations. Their donors receive the tax deduction off their income tax today for contributing to these organizations. These donors are the same ones we fight every day on trying to stop illegal immigration.

Because the FairTax eliminates the income tax, there is no income tax, so there is no tax-deduction for donors because there is no income tax to deduct it from. Donors can still give to the 501 C 3, but there is no income tax deduction offset by showing it as a charitable expense, it's not a business expense, therefore, it comes straight out of profits that are due the shareholders. Without the income tax offset, no corporation can expense a charitable deduction under the FairTax, so no Board will approve a donation to these outfits because shareholders will push back on it. So, their corporate fundraising will dry up as it should. Business corporations should have never been allowed to contribute to 501 C 3 organizations.

Well, the ACLU used to fight for actual civil rights mostly for black Americans, then they lost interest in that and moved toward fighting for the rights of illegal aliens. So their focus has changed, probably because their donors have changed. Same with the SPLC which was created to deal with the abject poverty of black Americans mainly in the South, but again, their focus has changed because their donors have changed, and now they focus on writing articles about "hate groups" like ours. SPLC called ALIPAC a hate group and had us on some list because we want to stop illegal immigration.

SPLC was started by Julian Bond, remember him?

It's the same thing with the Anti-Defamation League that was created to fight anti-semitism against Jews, but again their focus has changed and now they spend their time fighting for foreign Muslims coming into the country.

Most of these 501 C 3's are rotten to the core. They all need to shut down as "charities". They can still have an organization but under the FairTax they won't be funded with tax exempt money. Good luck with that!!

501 C 3's collect over $1.4 trillion in tax-exempt revenue. That's more "charity" than the sum of Medicaid, Food Stamps, SCHIP, WIC, ACF, HUD and Free School Lunch combined. So they aren't doing any "charity". Yet, they are diverting $1.4 trillion a year out of our production-based economy, and at a 39% income tax rate, they're diverting almost $560 billion a year in tax revenue out of the US treasury. That's what our deficit was last year. So what good are they? No good at all. Put the $1.4 trillion back into our private sector for-profit economy and it will multiply, create jobs and raise wages and salaries in the private sector. They will produce new goods and services which will be sold to consumers and taxed at the 23% FairTax rate at the final point of sale. Meanwhile, you've reduced poverty by creating employment and sustainable wages, reducing dramatically the government expense of Medicaid, Food Stamps, WIC, ACF, HUD and Free School Lunch, by half at least, maybe more as time marches on, but at half, that's over $600 billion a year in reduced government spending without cutting a program service or benefit for those who need it, you just have far less people who need it and qualify for it.

This article and report proves what we at ALIPAC have know for a long time. The SPLC is not just the Southern Poverty Law Center... we call them the Southern Poverty Lie Center because they lie all the time. They lie about groups like ALIPAC and FAIR and others being hate groups. The SPLC lies about the number of "hate groups" and many of the ones they list on their "hate map" are either 1. Not groups. 2 Don't exist at all and 3. Are groups but are not what most Americans would consider to be a racist group!

We have watched and documented the Southern Poverty LIE Center libeling many good groups and Americans for years and when the SPLC lies about a group like ALIPAC or a candidate like Donald Trump, they create a greatly increased risk of violence, abuse, and serious discrimination for their targets.

Now that Trump has been elected I hope someone finally sues the SPLC for so much damages they have to shut down like the KKK!

The SPLC is clearly fraudulent and racist!

It was picked up by the Washington Times.

Southern Poverty Law Center omits Trump-related ‘hate crimes’ against white children

‘They left that result out because it would not fit their ideological narrative’

    By Douglas Ernst -
The Washington Times - Monday, December 5, 2016

A liberal nonprofit group dedicated to combating bigotry left out “hate crimes” committed against white students in a report titled “The Trump Effect: The Impact of the 2016 Presidential Election on Our Nation’s Schools.”

The Southern Poverty Law Center surveyed over 10,000 K-12 teachers after the Nov. 8 U.S. presidential election. The group, working in tandem with the American Federation of Teachers, compiled a list of “hate incidents,” but readers who wanted to know whether white children were also harassed were not given existing data.

The Alabama-based group was recently asked by The New York Post what information it had on the following survey statement: “I have heard derogatory language or slurs about white students.”

The newspaper said an answer to its inquiry proved difficult to come by.

“SPLC initially said it was having a hard time getting the information ‘from the researchers,’” the Post reported Monday. “Pressed, SPLC spokeswoman Kirsten Bokenkamp finally revealed that ‘about 20 percent answered affirmatively to that question.’”

In short, roughly 2,000 educators reported incidents perpetrated against white students.

    Other feedback included:

    • Nine out of 10 educators reported a negative impact on students’ mood and behavior following the election.
    • Eight in 10 educators reported heightened anxiety on the part of marginalized students.
    • Four in 10 educators reported derogatory language directed at students of color, Muslims, immigrants and people based on gender or sexual orientation.

Hans Bader, a former Education Department civil rights attorney, told the newspaper that there is a simple reason why relevant information was excluded from SPLC’s final report: bias.

“They left that result out because it would not fit their ideological narrative,” Mr. Bader said. “It was deemed an inconvenient truth.”

The lawyer added that SPLC’s standards for what constitutes a hate crime would not hold up in a court of law, as it includes common rhetoric about contested political issues.

“It is simply ridiculous that SPLC treats ‘build the wall’ as hate rhetoric,” Mr. Bader said.

One anonymous teacher from Michigan told the group that white students were overhead saying, “build the wall; lock her up.” Another anonymous teacher from Indiana heard students tell strangers that President-elect Trump would throw them “back over the wall.”

A panel from the U.S. Commission on Civil Rights responded to SPLC’s report last Friday by calling for increased federal funding for prosecuting hate crimes.

Enforcement of US Immigration law is not a "hate crime", it's the law that protects Americans from over-population due to unwanted unsustainable illegal immigration. "throw them back over the wall" means in our language deportation, no different than "throw them in the slammer and throw away the key" when in our language we are referring to citizen criminals.

When I worked in the schools I used to see kids crying and being left out of games and activities because they didn't speak spanish. The spanish kids had their own groups and other kids weren't welcome if they didn't speak their language. Of course if their was a responsible adult around supervising this didn't happen but there were so many kids in the school and not enough help it happened quite frequently.
