REPORT: White House Advisor Gary Cohn Shut Down Trump Proposal for ‘Wall Bonds’ to #B

REPORT: White House Advisor Gary Cohn Shut Down Trump Proposal for ‘Wall Bonds’ to #BuildTheWall

    May 30, 2017

    By Carter

Registered Democrat and White House Chief Economic Adviser, Gary Cohn shut down a proposal to crowd-fund the Mexican border wall, according to a new report by GotNews.

Cohn felt that deciding to use wall bonds to finance the border wall through private financing would “upset House Speaker Paul Ryan and Congress”, despite bonds being “perfectly constitutional”.

in March, Republican Congressman Don Young put forward an idea wherein the government could “sell bonds to finance the wall, and offer public finances 2.5% interest”.Based on public records from the New York state Board of Elections, and courtesy of GotNews, Cohn is still a registered Democrat.

    GotNews reports:
Cohn left his role as Goldman Sachs chief operating officer in January to join the Trump administration. Goldman is coming come under fire for its purchase last week of $2.8 billion in bonds propping up the regime of Venezuelan socialist dictator Nicolas Maduro.

The only reason I can think of that this would "upset Congress" is because it's more debt. Congress should pay for it with our tax money and then recoup the expense from penalties and taxes on immigration and immigration related activity from Mexico. Remittances for example and tariffs on imports or what they call a "border adjustment tax". The cost savings to Medicaid, Food Stamps, Free School Lunch Program, WIC, TANF and crime reduction from the deportation of illegal aliens and the savings on growth to those costs by stopping illegal immigration at the border will pay for the wall a thousand times over.

This shouldn't surprise anyone. We all knew Cohn, just like Mnuchin, was nothing more than a "gator" for the swamp. Trump promised to drain the swamp, not add to it.

Mnuchin is a Republican and a very early supporter of Donald Trump and his Trump Agenda. Mnuchin was a Trump Supporter long before many here at ALIPAC and is not part of any SWAMP. Mnuchin lives in California and a lot of his friends wanted to stop being friends because he was openly supporting Donald Trump to fix our country and Make America Great Again. He feels the obligation of a President is to work towards increasing wages and good jobs for average Americans. Mnuchin is a Trumper all the way.

Cohn is a Democrat, came straight out of Goldman-Sachs to serve this President. They will not always agree on issues, but that isn't the purpose of the White House Council of Economic Advisors which is more of a statistics and economic data function for the White House to provide information for policy, not decide it. To direct that function properly requires tremendous knowledge of figures, data, studies and analysis, it's not an ideological function, it's data-driven, so your politics or ideology i you even have one really doesn't matter for that post. I don't know whether Gary Cohn will do a good job with that or not, but even despite differences in personal views, I believe he will, he at least has the vast experience of dealing with that type of data from his tenure with Goldman-Sachs to do a good job.

And when Cohn steps out and speaks on policy, which he really shouldn't, then you'll probably see some differences of opinions, like on the Paris deal, but his opinion is worth the same 2 cents as everyone else's. Trump is going to do what he knows or believes to be the right thing to do based on his own strategy. That's how Donald Trump has functioned his whole life, that's why he won the election, and that's why he's doing such a great job.

Trump only ran for President for one reason and that's to fix our country as quickly as possible to every extent possible. He didn't need a job, he didn't need a big house, he didn't need a big airplane, he didn't need fame or fortune, he didn't need the crap, the risk, the disruption, the attacks, the criticism, or the negative attention. He did this for US. At some point, people have to understand and accept that fact. You can't judge President Trump or his people the same way we've judged other politicians, because Trump is not a politician, he's a businessman who wants to use his skill, experience, intelligence and deep unique understanding of our economy to fix our country and I believe all the people he's brought in want to do likewise, even if they don't all agree on how to get there.

    NO AMNESTY

Don't reward the criminal actions of millions of illegal aliens by giving them citizenship.
