Kansas Secretary of State Kris Kobach says American workers “would get the raw end” of two amnesty plans being pushed by House Speaker Paul Ryan and a group of Senate Republicans.
Kobach — a pioneer of Trump’s America First immigration agenda — told Breitbart News in an interview that any amnesty for the roughly 800,000 to 3.3 million eligible illegal aliens in the U.S., the majority of which are protected under the Obama-created Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program, would be a burden on working-class Americans who are forced to compete with illegal aliens for jobs.
“The American worker would get the raw end of this deal,” Kobach said. “[The Senate’s amnesty plan] would legalize nearly a million young illegal aliens to compete with that sector of the American workforce that suffers the most from unemployment.”
As Breitbart News reported, under the Senate Republicans’ closed-door amnesty plan, upwards of four million illegal aliens could receive permanent amnesty to remain in the U.S.
At the same time, mandatory E-Verify, the incredibly popular employment system that screens out illegal aliens from the American workforce, would not be included in the deal and neither would an end to family-based chain migration, through which more than 1.5 million legal immigrants enter the U.S. every year.
“To rule out E-Verify would be a slap in the face to American workers,” Kobach said. “If this plan materializes, it would be completely inconsistent with the President’s immigration priorities.”
Trump’s immigration priorities include:
- Construction of a border wall
- Deporting unaccompanied alien children who are not at-risk in their native country
- Preventing criminal illegal aliens and gang members from receiving immigration benefits
- Mandating E-Verify, which weeds out illegal aliens from taking U.S. jobs
- Eliminating the diversity visa lottery
- Classifying overstaying a visa as a “misdemeanor”
- Restricting certain federal grants to sanctuary cities that refuse to detain criminal illegal aliens
- Ending family-based chain migration
- Enacting a merit-based legal immigration where only qualified immigrants can enter the U.S.
Though the White House has previously stated that these immigration priorities must be part of any amnesty deal for illegal aliens, House and Senate Republicans are seemingly not trying to convince their fellow Republicans of Trump’s pro-American reforms.

But Jesus beheld them, and said unto them, With men this is impossible; but with God all things are possible.
