Democrat Hillary Clinton is currently the front-runner to clinch the Democratic nomination in the 2016 presidential election after President Barack Obama's second term expires.
According to Fox News, Karl Rove advised Republicans to ease off on attacking Clinton for her husband, Bill Clinton's, sex scandal, which occurred when he was president.
Rove, the former Bush administration adviser, thinks it would be a bad idea for Republicans to attack Hillary's campaign by bringing up Bill's affair with White House intern Monica Lewinsky, which would ultimately lead to impeachment hearings.
2012 Republican presidential nominee, Mitt Romney, also advised against these sorts of attacks, according to Boston. Romney said that Bill Clinton "embarrassed the nation" and "breached his responsibility."
However, Romney went on to say that the sex scandal is not something Hillary should have to explain, and he also said "Bill Clinton isn't as relevant as Hillary Clinton."
Rove pointed out that Clinton's tenure as secretary of state is relevant. He mainly pointed to her alleged role in the 2012 Benghazi terrorist attacks that led to the death of four Americans.
