Seeking Feedback About Nationwide Ad Campaign

    Hi everyone,

I'm a new member here. This is a great site! A brief introduction - I'm just an ordinary citizen who got fed up with the illegal invasion in my area. About 5 years ago, I got angry at the local news media for its bias and spin, so I began creating flyers trying to get the TRUTH out about what was taking place in the community. I don't think it did much, but it made me feel that I was at least taking some action instead of just complaning about it all the time!

While I am all for the protests and the faxing and phone calls to our elected officials, I can't help but feel that we are missing just one other ingredient in our fight to save our country- informing our fellow citizens!

I cannot begin to tell you how many people I've come across who have absolutely no clue what is really going on! I have friends who actually felt that Bush's immigration speech sounded fair and reasonable! They are not as informed as those of us who have been following this issue for quite some time now. Plus, they are being mislead by our wonderful news media.

With that in mind, I had an idea that was actually inspired by something I read in the book "Fighting Immigration Anarchy." Early on in the movement, one activist took out an ad in a major newspaper to get the word out about illegal immigration. I think it was the LA Times and they refused to run the ad! (surprise, surprise!) But they can't all refuse if all of us got together to do it!

I think we are at a very critical crossroad. The last straw for me, was this recent sellout by the senate for passing this "comprehensive" immigration (amnesty) bill. To the uniformed, no one knows the details of the more outrageous admendments, or how their elected officials voted on it.

I feel if each state with grassroots groups could combine their resources ($$) with other groups, maybe we can pay for a one page ad (in each of our respective local papers). It would be a standard letter, informing citizens of the kind of bill that was just passed, listing the more outrageous details of the bill, along with the names of those traitors who voted for it. I'm new here so perhaps this idea was already brought up. But the few people I spoke to about it, seemed to like the idea and would be willing to donate.

The open borders crowd have the media on their side because they also have big money backing them. I think in some small way, we need to wrestle some of that power back by combining our resources. We keep saying that Americans need to wake up. Well, maybe if we educate the masses, more people will become involved and vote out those who refused to heed the will of the people. Thanks for hearing me out. I look forward to your feedback.

    Peace.

    chloe24,

That is a good suggestion. ALIPAC recommends that our supporters get the word out in many inovative ways. We ask people to write letters to the editor that mention us and educate. We also ask our supporters to call in on talk radio to spread the word and mention ALIPAC.

We have people putting our fliers across America, a student outreach program, and people visiting other websites and forums to tell people the truth and how to find ALIPAC.

This combined with our massive web traffic and our national media appearances has done a great deal to reach out to the nation. We also lead the way in cooperative or coalition efforts that have reached many others.

The only downside I see to buying newspaper ads is that it reinforces an industry that has become part of the problem. I could see buying an ad in the Washington Times or one of the few other publications that have been fair with the public on this issue.

What would be better would be for local groups to spend those ad dollars on local talk radio stations and do radio spots. This way our money would go to allied media instead of opposition media.

    Just my two cents.

    chloe24,

Welcome! This is a great site. I echo 2ndamendsis and ALIPAC(W.).

    informing our fellow citizens!
I think most of us agree that the ignorance of the citizenry is a MAJOR problem. W. gave you some of the efforts we are making.

    Definitely check out the archives.

For example, yesterday one of our folk gave us this link for free posters:

This is only 1 small example of the cooperation here.

    Again, welcome

    Welcome chloe24!

For years I had people tell me that illegals couldn't possibly receive welfare, medical, housing, and the rest of the benefits that they do because "they are illegal". People are just now learning the truth about this issue. We now find that it has been even worse than we thought.

You are right on track about running a campaign that exposes the facts behind illegal immigration. I feel that the infectious disease risk from undocumented or illegal immigration is the most important factor in regards to this problem and that people listen when you explain the risk of infectious, and in some cases, deadly diseases.

Using the term "undocumented illegal immigrant" seems to be the best way to get the infectious disease point across to those who do not yet understand the many risks that these people pose on our society.

Welcome to the fight. I am willing to lend my time and support in any way.

I think flyers are a great idea. I also love the idea of No Amnesty signs at every busy intersection throughout the US. Somehow we have to find where we can get items such as this mass produced for shipment to our allies throughout the country.

    Diane,
Judging from your posts I thought you might find this combination of demonstration items interesting.

    It's Great To Be Here!

Thanks for the warm welcome and the feedback! The radio spots are certainly another good option, but I think more people would find it quicker and easier to just put an ad in the paper. I know that the money for the ad would go to these enemy papers, but somehow I like the idea of having to force them to print something that runs counter to the propaganda they've been spewing.

Also, there's something about the printed word that sticks more in the minds with people. I think visuals are more powerful than hearing a 30-60 sec. sound commercial. It's more concrete. You have in in your hands and can refer to it whenever you want. But that's just my opinion.

If I can't do it on a large scale, I think I might just look into some of the small community papers here. And I would certainly encourage anyone else to feel free and do the same. Just make sure all of your facts are correct and list some of the more outrageous admendments in the bill, and those who voted for it.

    spreading the word

    Hi again, Chloe24,

I think you're right about some folk. And that papers are one way of getting the word spread.

However, not all people will even pick up a paper and want any info they get, on the go....

That's why we need to use every available idea and means in our efforts.
