Every get tired of hearing that "we stole land from them"? Well here are some great rebuttals.

The thing with these reconquistas is that they are "mixing up" history to suit their agenda. They get this "you stole our land" business from the fact that SPAIN once controlled the territory now known as the Southwest. It was populated by Spanish landowners, Native American tribes, and Catholic missions.

When Mexico got their independence from Spain in 1821, they assumed control of that territory for 27 years until the Mexican/American war ended their control. So, it was because of the SPANISH "settlement" of that territory that they have ANY "claim" to the land--NOT because the Aztecs or any other tribes indigenous to Southern Mexico/Central America ever actually lived there! They are mixing up the Spanish history with the indigenous history into one big mess and trying to stake a claim on the Southwest.

As we know, the Spanish claim ended when Mexico won its independence in 1821, and the Mexican claim ended with the Treaty of Guadeloupe Hidalgo in 1848 after the U.S. won the war and also paid $15 million for the land ($315 in today's $$$). This issue is TOTALLY SEPARATE from the issue of which tribes were "indigenous" to that land! And they were NEVER indigenous to the Southwest.

Another good analogy would be for the Seminoles, who were native to the Florida area, to now claim rights to tribal lands in Alaska because they are "indigenous" to the continent! WHERE ARE THE AZTEC AND MAYAN RUINS IN WHAT IS NOW THE AMERICAN SOUTHWEST????

These people were very different peoples; they do not even share the same physical characteristics in many cases. Look at the indigenous of Central America and look at a full-blooded American Native Indian. It's no different than the example I use of the Greeks and the Swedes. Yes, they are both Caucasian, but very different in terms of physical characteristics, customs, and language.

What these reconquistas are trying to do is argue with the science of anthropology. The problem is that this BS has gained traction because they are pushing this propaganda on a mostly illiterate and uneducated population who is eager to believe that they have "rights" to the land. And also like I said before, NOBODY is coming for "the land." They are only coming here for our jobs, benefits, and the governmental and legal system which undergirds it all! If it were just about "the land," they'd be trying to claim Central America also. But, as you can see they aren't interested in doing so. In fact, Mexico strictly enforces their Southern border against the Central Americans. Following the reconquista mindset, Mexico has NO RIGHT to keep Central Americans out of Mexico either since they are all "one people." LOL! Their story is as full of holes as swiss cheese.

Think about it for a moment. Would we of white European ancestry FOR ONE MINUTE consider the ancient Romans to be the "same people" as the Huns from the North of the continent? Would we consider the Swedes to be the same as the Greeks or the Armenians? NO! We recognize that they are all distinct peoples with their own history, language, customs, and physical characteristics!

Of course, the reconquistas are pushing this because it suits their agenda. The Marxists have for quite awhile tried to forge this artificial alliance with all of the indigenous peoples in the Hemisphere in order to further their political agenda too.
