Rush Callers Claim Catholic Church Asking People to Shelter Illegal Aliens & Not Tell The Media

Churches in California have reportedly asked their parishioners to shelter illegal aliens in their homes – and not to tell the media. A retired doctor and his wife spoke to Rush Limbaugh Tuesday about the disturbing request.
“Ann” and “Eddie,” who live in Southern California, told Limbaugh that the Diocese of San Bernardino made the decision to house illegals after the bishop received a call from the federal government:

Ann: We live in Southern California, and we’re Catholic…and there was a town hall meeting last evening, emergency meeting called by our local parish priest, ordered by our bishop.

They have made the decision that they’re going to absorb the immigrants that are coming through because the federal government called the bishop’s office on Monday…[they're] asking us to open our homes and to house them for up to a month.

The church will reimburse us for any out-of-pocket expenses and we were told not to talk to anybody about it, especially the media. I’m not especially happy about it.

Limbaugh then speaks with Eddie, a retired doctor:

EDDIE: I’m very concerned about the health care crisis that we’re facing and these illegal aliens that are coming into the United States. Doctors are being asked not to talk to the media…and we got a big problem because there are a lot of diseases that can come through this border…

According to a Border Control union, illegal aliens are coming into the United States with “active scabies and other illnesses,” while there are also reports of tuberculosis infection spreading at camps.
While we cannot confirm the claims of Ann and Eddie, their story does comport with this report that medical staff at at least one facility has been ordered not to talk about conditions in the camp or they would be arrested.
Moreover, border patrol agents have been ordered to “cease and desist” from talking with the media.
So what’s going on, here? Clearly, there in a concerted effort underway to control the news surrounding this crisis – and to what ends the Obama administration will go to allow it to continue.

RUSH: Where is the Hollywood telethon for the suffering children crossing the border? We do "We Are the World" for the starving in Ethiopia. Where is the telethon?
Where is the massive leftist outpouring of compassion and fundraising for these hungry, thirsty, ill, sick, victimized-through-no-fault-of-their-own children? It's just like you said to me yesterday, "Rush, you may as well give it up. You're not got gonna win this."
I said, "Win what?"
"You're not gonna convince people to send the kids back."
I said, "Why does somebody think that's what I'm doing?"
"Rush, there's nobody under 25 in this country who sees a bunch of poor, sick kids crossing the border who thinks they ought to be sent back."
But I don't think that. My concern for these kids goes far deeper. I mean, Tom Coburn said (paraphrasing), "First class airfare. Send them back home for much less than the $3.8 billion Obama wants." But the point was, "Rush, they've already won the issue. Nobody sees this is a problem. It's just some kids that showed up. Okay, it may be 300,000 or 50,000, it's no different than a poor kid showing up at your back door. You do not send him away." And I think it's part of the trick that's being played.



But, anyway, where is a telethon? Why not? Why won't there be a telethon? Why? I mean, this is made to order for some rock group like Bono, U2, Sting, Bon Jovi, take your pick. Angelina Jolie. Well, does she sing? It actually doesn't matter if she sings, right? She can do whatever she wants and we'll watch. Where is the telethon? (interruption) See, that's the answer. You can't tell the story. If you're gonna do a telethon, you have to explain why you're doing it. You have to tell the story. "We Are the World" and you're doing a national worldwide fundraising effort for starving in Biafra, you can blame it on America. You can blame it on some dictator. You can blame it on global warming.

You can explain, but you can't tell the story here.
You start doing a telethon, start raising money, start asking people to donate, you gotta tell 'em why. Then you gotta present the personal history stories of these kids. You gotta go back to their native countries and find out what's so bad there, why they're coming here, how they got here. And that's something nobody wants to shine any light on. Nobody wants to really tell the story.

RUSH: Another reason why there will not be a telethon to raise money for the children: These kids are all fleeing socialist countries. Not only that, they are fleeing preindustrial environmental paradises: El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras. I mean, these are the places that Hollywood leftists have always considered heaven on earth, and you can't tell the story without that.
I mean, you have to tell the story if you do a telethon, and you cannot explain what's wrong in El Salvador or these places that were supposedly the garden variety of what the planet should be. You cannot. These leftists cannot do a telethon which basically would have to conclude that socialism fails. So there is that. But I ask the question rhetorically anyway just to make the point.

RUSH: Folks, I have a couple questions, just a couple questions here. If it's so bad in El Salvador and Guatemala and Honduras, and the kids are leaving -- and they're coming to the United States to escape utter chaos, the breakdown of civility -- when are the children of Chicago gonna leave and try to get into the United States? I mean, it's bad there.
Did see the shooting statistics coming out of Chicago? When are the kids there gonna leave? And speaking of all this, why hasn't there been a hashtag? Where has the first lady been? We did a hashtag for the kidnapped kids in Nigeria, #BringBackOurGirls. Where's the hashtag? There's no telethon, there's no tweet campaign to donate, and there's not even a hashtag here!



Well, now, you may laugh, but, folks, I'm telling you something. I know it sounds funny. I sometimes naturally am. But the fact of the matter is, the very fact that there aren't any of those things that usually accompany liberal causes means something else is going on with this. I mean, they are quick to do hashtags; they are quick to show solidarity. The natural thing here would be a hashtag, just based on what Obama said.
Obama has publicly said that he doesn't want these kids. He's told the parents down in these countries, "Keep the kids. Don't send 'em." He has not made a big deal of it, but he said it a couple times. A natural hashtag would be #KeepYourKidsAtHome, or #DoYouKnowWhereYourKidsArerRightNow, or some such thing.
There's no hashtag. There's no telethon. There's none of the usual accompaniments that liberals attach to their causes that are designed to make an emotional connection with people and tug at people's heartstrings. They're not doing that. In fact, they're trying to keep it all secret here!

Obama Administration Hates Christians, Until They Need Us!

Yesterday during the Rush Limbaugh show a caller produced a startling claim.

ANN: Great. Well, we have some interesting news. My husband Eddie is on the phone with us. We live in Southern California, and we’re Catholic, active Catholics in our community, and there was a town hall meeting last evening, emergency meeting called by our local parish priest, ordered by our bishop (unintelligible) and the Archdiocese of San Bernardino. They have made the decision that they’re going to absorb the immigrants that are coming through because the federal government called the bishop’s office on Monday and they’re gonna be busing these immigrants to our communities and asking us to open our homes and to house them for up to a month. The church will reimburse us for any out-of-pocket expenses and we were told not to talk to anybody about it, especially the media.

Now there are several things that are key, first the politics of this is pretty plain as Rush notes ,

Rush Limbaugh: Everybody now is focused on, “Okay, what do we do with these people?” Look, I understand you just can’t ignore them and leave them to the wolves. Don’t misunderstand. But I don’t get the acceptance. I don’t get the idea that there’s no end to this. I understand what Obama’s doing. He’s trying to get Hispanic numbers up; he’s trying to put pressure on Republicans to vote for amnesty before the November elections.
I understand all of that.
I understand the politics of it.

We’ve already talked about this. The purpose of this crisis is to help elect Democrats, this is what the administration cares about, not borders, not people. If the left thought for one moment that these kids would turn 18 and vote for Sarah Palin A ten foot border wall complete with moat and alligators would already be in place.

But what really interesting about this claim is the administration turning to the church.

This administration and their allies hate the Catholic Church. They hate our doctrines on Abortion, hate our doctrines on Contraception, hate our doctrines on Gay Marriage, they hate the Catholic schools which provide a better alternative to the public schools and they hate the idea that the church points to Christ over the state.

But they also know that the church being the church looks beyond the political sphere and they understand the reality that the duty of the church goes beyond simple nationalism or even national interest.

The duty to protect the borders belongs to the state, the duty to enforce the laws belong to the state, the duty to protect the welfare of Americans and use their funds wisely and honestly belong to the state.

BUT the duties and responsibilities of Christians are duties to individuals.

To love one’s neighbor is an individual duty.

To feed the poor is an individual duty.

To pray for each other, to love one’s enemy, to turn the other cheek, all of these are individual duties that Christians in general & Catholics in particular have been called upon to perform since the days of Christ.

No Diocese can, when called upon, not perform this duty in the same way that a doctor is obliged to take care of the sick without prejudice to who they are. The duty to do this is independent of any political consideration and that is just the way it is and the administration is very cunning to call upon the church to exercise this because the Church can’t say no and once he is done with us he will happily turn back to persecuting us as evil woman hating homophobic bigots.

That is what the Obama Administration is all about, using others for their own political gain.

Final thought: While Christian duty obliges us to do this, we are NOT obliged to keep silent about this in order to keep the people uninformed. If this is a duty of mercy and a righteous thing to do it should be done openly (not keeping a light under a bushel). If it is right it should be done proudly and openly and if there is pushback it is the duty of a priest or bishop to explain the duty of a Christian as I just did.

To do otherwise simply helps those who are trying to manipulate us and is frankly cowardly.

Sure, they are advocating for "Christian Charity" as long as what it takes to feed, house and educate them comes out of the coffers of the tax payers, and not their church. FACT: Christian Charity is when a Christian person and/or a group of Christian people help, not PUSHING the burden on the general public.

California Church Gives 'Travel Cash' To Illegal Aliens, Sends Them East

FONTANA -- 46 illegal aliens were temporarily sheltered at St. Joseph's Catholic Church on Thursday, where they waited to be driven to bus stations after being released at around 6:45 p.m.

Although the immigrants' final travel destinations could not be confirmed, San Bernardino Diocese spokesman John Andrews told Breitbart News that the church provided "travel cash" to those headed on long journeys east toward New York or New Jersey.

Andrews also said the church was helping the illegal immigrants--32 children and 14 women--buy bus tickets, and helping them navigate the complex bus transportation system.

"The Catholic Church welcomed us," an immigrant named Bianca told CBS Los Angeles. "We are here, we are okay."

Meanwhile, protesters in Murrieta, who succeeded in turning around three rounds of buses of illegal aliens bound for the local Border Patrol station, waited all day for a new round of buses to come, but they never showed up. Border Patrol had announced on Wednesday afternoon that a flight carrying another 140 illegal aliens to San Diego scheduled for Thursday had been cancelled, as well as all future flights, although those same flights had resumed after being cancelled in the past.

One of the organizers of the Murrieta protests, Diana Serafin, told Breitbart News that protesters would remain outside the Border Patrol station for as long as necessary.

"We can't let our guard down now," she said.
